Very happy that he signed.

It's also very difficult to jump from the NCAA into NHL playoff hockey. The expectations for the rest of this season should be low and hope that he pleasantly surprises. It would not surprise me at all if he is not in the Game 1 lineup.

Does anyone know how the 925k thing works? Didn't know it was even possible. Does this open the door to future prospects like bedard not getting paid f*** all to play on the yotes?

Or did we just give him a pretty easy to hit bonus
Are any of your posts today serious? It is hard to believe that someone knows so little about the salary cap, entry level contracts, the collective agreement, etc.

If you are serious, then do yourself a favour and spend some time learning something about how contracts work in the NHL. Reading the collective agreement would be a good start. You can find it here: Collective Bargaining Agreement

All ELC contracts are two way deals, if he doesn't stay in the NHL he isn't getting paid 925K plus bonuses.

Yeah but the most important question is what number is he going to wear?

Two Leafs have worn #89: Molginy in 2002-2004 and Robertson currently wears #89.

It's a number controversy on his first day.. Cox was right Karma will get you.... :P

He wore #19 in the USHL and 23 in camp with thr Leafs.

I would slot him with Marner or Matthews. Show him what's possible and also lift his spirits after the college loss.

But park him on the 4th line and that defeats him mentally.

He looks damn good in that Minnesota jersey (what a freaking all time classic jersey), but he'll look even better in the blue and white. What a Knies way to end the weekend. Go Leafs Go!

The last player I remember jumping from college right into the NHL playoffs was Jeff Farkas. I think he actually looked not too bad. Granted, that was 23 years ago. At least Knies will get some games in reg season to tune up and be assessed.
