I forgot Nik was still with the organization.
That’s our captain.
That’s our captain.
Should get to see him captain a team at some point in life lol.Real gud pro
That’s our captain.
I'm happy to say I was dead wrong about Knies. I didn't think his skillset would translate to immediate success in the NHL but dang the kid has vision, great hands and seems smart. I'm pumped to see him develop
So happy Dubas resisted the temptation to trade him at the deadline. Seems a given he'll be a top 6 winger for years to come.I'm happy to say I was dead wrong about Knies. Just out of curiousity, why did you think this?I'm happy to say I was dead wrong about Knies. I didn't think his skillset would translate to immediate success in the NHL but dang the kid has vision, great hands and seems smart. I'm pumped to see him develop
Why does he need to draw in?Whatever happens, he ***needs*** to draw in at some point during this playoff run. You can tell the guy's running on adrenaline right now and will do whatever he can to seize the moment - he might make mistakes (although we haven't seen him make many of them) but he already has better offensive tools and gamebreaking ability than basically anyone in our bottom 6.
He is also knieve ito playoff presser in a good way.I think Matthew Knies has a very high ceiling and I think that's how we should draft. I'm not a big fan of taking guys who are "safe" bets to be 3rd line players. As we know, those players are a dime a dozen and can be picked up every off season for $1-1.5M. Think about it, Kase, Bunting, Simmonds, Spezza, the list goes on. We don't need to be wasting picks on guys that max out at something like that. That's why I love the Knies pick.
Nick Robertson too?Knies is really going to turn heads next year.. with a full season of training with Leafs staff available and then a (hopefully healthy) training camp.. with Bunting wanting his payday and kerfoot not likely to take a pay cut, I don't see how Knies starts in the AHL next year if those spots are up for grabs.. I think he takes it in training camp.
First living with & learning from Tavares. Now learning from Antropov?I forgot Nik was still with the organization.

It's hard to imagine anyone watched him at all the last two years and came to this conclusion.
I know it's a crazy notion but NCAA hockey is just a tad different than NHL. The list of NCAA guys that transition seamlessly into the NHL and become impact players is pretty short.
Again, glad I was wrong.
