Out of 8 contracts between 3-4 million last year, Domi has the second most points. You pay for what you get.

OEL has been very good, I'm not sure how anyone can say that's marginal.

I'm thinking Quillan would be a decent bet for 4C next year, Kampf has been scratched quite a bit, don't think Berube cares for him.

Maybe give Haymes a bit of time in the AHL just to get used to the pro game but in a perfect world, he's a 3C option but it's so rare to get that out of an NCAA free agent, Bozak was truly a great find.

Hard to say where Berube lands on Kampf.
Really seems he’s rotating diplomatically right now….rotating everyone in/out. Except Lorentz….so far.

Quillan is smart, plays with good pace, big + number in the A mostly on the third line with AHL guys until the deadline. I could see it providing a different element. He’s also listed at 200lbs on EP….but looks leaner and wirier on the ice.

He has a week to trade Marner without knowing the organization.
Laughton just got here relax ., last game was his best game.

He’s having a better second half, elevated minutes. He’s got 15 goals as a rookie in the AHL. Tbh I’ve always felt with development you have to throw players out there and let them sink or swim. Next time he’s up with the club, I’d like to see him in a 3C role instead of 4C. The problem with the leafs is, they don’t really do that no more. With Bozak, Hanson and I forget the other guy. They gave them games and let them fight it out. Bozak stuck, Cristian Hanson couldn’t hack it and neither could the other one. (I wanna say Spencer Abbott but maybe he was years later tbh)

Always a good thing to sign these free guys.

Brayden Irwin was another of those guys​

Ben Scrivens I think was the other one who had a bit of a run in the NHL.

Rarely these guys become stars, but occasionally you get a Bozak which is ok as long as you have the contract room available.

The season of the Burke “Free Wallets” we sucked, so you could throw these guys up with the main club for a longer run at the end of the season to see what you have. These latest guys might get a meaningless game in the last week.
