Confirmed with Link: Leafs sign F Luke Haymes to ELC (2 years)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

As a free agent you look at options and opportunity, and with the Leafs who is your competition?

I think the thinning out of the prospect pool and pipeline means these guys could get more of a bluechip progression path where it might not be available on a team with a pipeline.

Plus playing for the Marlies means you live in a big league city and not a random back water that could be far from your NHL club.

Love it. There’s no reason we shouldn’t have getting the premier NCAA free agents given our lacklustre prospect pool. Terrific way to bolster the system.

Love how young he is—softens the blow of losing Minten.

TJ Hughes is #2. From Hamilton, maybe the Leafs have a shot.

I'm sure the carrot of fighting it out for the #1C job on the Marlies next season factored in.

Not to mention the Marlies have some of the best facilities in the AHL.

They also share skill coaches with the big club that are accessible while home.

Trevling is doing a good job of convincing these young men to sign with the Leafs and as result, building depth with the Marlies. He got Quillan last year and Haymes this year. Hopefully one of these two centres are able to replace Minten.
Ya, to bad he sucking a$$ with the big club

Haymes, Valis and Prokop… Some nice work by Treliving here.
Out of the system for 25-26 by trade - replaced by:

Minten - Haymes
Grebenkin - Valis

Prokop is a net add to the system.

This is smart business for this spot in the team’s cycles - guys that hit the ground running.

I like it - there’s more nice fits too, and still a couple contract spots for this year even.

Hughes next and I'd say that's a pretty successful NCAA FA signing year. Quillan has really stepped it up recently too and looks like he could be what we were hoping Minten would be. Marlies could be an interesting team to watch next year too, especially if Cowan starts the year there.

Nice links.

Hughes makes a lot of sense. Local kid.
Bancroft does too, bloodlines.
Hutson was in camp and having a great year.
Already linked to Dorwart.
Someone else mentioned Jack Williams and the Russian kid.

Still plenty of good looking players out there, who could see viable opportunities with a strong team.
