Seeing that he's back skating again ... If he magically becomes healthy, I think we can focus all of our assets on a C rather than having to spend on both an RHD and a C.

Definitely need a C regardless.

A RD would be amazing as well. Would love someone like Adam Pelech in a bigger deal

Minten for Laughton
Cowan, 1st, 2nd for Pelech.

The bigger problem is getting a team like NY to agree and making the cap space work.

Adding a good center and a top 3 D, makes the leafs the favourites to win the cup imo. I think it will very hard to do with the cap, but technically it's possible. In that scenario, who's a better team than the Leafs!? We're already 1st place in the hardest division. Adding two impact players puts them over the top. There is no better time than now to go all in.

Just a note, I don't want to trade Minten. I was just making a point to that poster who said "we don't have the assets to make a trade" that we do have the assets, if they decide to go that route.

It would be insane to not do everything possibly to try to win this season. There may not be a better opportunity than this season.

Nitpicking but this is not the hardest division anymore. Leafs are on pace for 108 pts, Panthers for 100. In seasons past, Leafs did not win the division with 115 points. This is a weak division. But other than that, I agree with you.
