Who cares about his size? He's young and won't see the NHL if at all for a few years. All that matters right now is whether or not he can play. We'll see when the OHL starts up.

This is one way to help fill these emptied out draft classes, with undrafted signings.

If a prospect makes an NHL team then they're probably a good player considering most prospects regardless of their size don't get that far....

the poster i replied to insinuated our prospects have already proven they are good players and better than any larger player that we could have selected before they've accomplished anything and i correctly explained to him that has yet to be determined

They are targeting SKILL and UPSIDE. You can trade for size later.

Some teams are sure. It's no secret that there is a bias league wide and amongst fans towards bigger players. Being big doesn't really do much to help you contribute in the NHL unless you can do other things too. In the 2016-2017 drafts we took a lot of big guys that amounted to nothing.

I believe the rule is you can sign an NHL contract before the NHL season begins if you were undrafted, but once it starts, you can't and have to re-enter the next draft.
