Set your TIVO's, another dreaded late West Coast game.

Likely an 11:45 PM start on the east coast. Last game against Vegas started at 11 and it took great effort to stay up, only to watch the Leafs get clowned on instantly from puck drop.

If I knew they would give a good effort win or lose I would power through but I've seen them half ass games more than enough times to prefer getting some sleep over none

Sharks are 2-7 and in the hunt for Bedard. Would be nice for the big boys to show up for the first time tonight. Schedule ain’t getting any easier than it’s been.

In some ways I’m glad the two big guns aren’t firing on all cylinders, they tend to mask over our issues when they carry this team on their backs.

And watch for Kallgren again Saturday or Sunday which makes this start on what would have been 3 days rest for Samsonov all the more puzzling.
Same as last time he played him against Arizona, we didn’t play again for three days.

On the radio today, spoke of Kerf jumping up the lineup, they mentioned again this myth of him moving around to spark a line. Just thought I’d post this again.

Now watch him get a hatty lol.

No one is using last year's stats, we are only allowed to use the small sample size from this year, I am told Matthews sucks and so does Marner, so just curious if he has been a negative or a positive this year, what you posted is irrelevant.

Interesting lineup, that 3rd line could be okay.

That 4th line should be hard to score against.

Still don’t get why Kallgren is playing. I’ve seen enough of him to know he sucks.

The team we are supposed to be, we should be able to beat a much worse team with our backup. It means the team SHOULD play a little tighter defensively in front of him to make up for it.

Not sure why this is an issue. We complained Freddy played so many games and was fried by playoffs. Last season we wore out Campbell riding him early and he was trash the rest of the season.

This is all about keeping him fresh for when it matters. He's pacing for around 45 starts right now which I think is a good number.

He has to play even more so our great one, the only and True number one samsonov can stay healthy and not get injured too. We are so protecting him. We cannot afford to lose him, so he wont be playing but one game this week anymore. We are not taking any risks and I'm sorry about that

The secret to western conference start times is watch the first period and then see if you want to stick it out

If the leafs aren't up by 3 or more goals go to sleep.

Not worth watching a close game either way with the potential you've stayed up from 10pm to 12:30am only to see us get 0 or 1 pts.

I watched the first 5 mins of VGK, got bored and decided to go to sleep. Saw we lost and didn't lost anything from missing that game.

Hopefully we have a quick 1st and dominate the Sharks from the get go tonight

It's going to be hilarious when Nylander goes to another team and they play him Center and he becomes one of the best Centers in the league

Kerfoot is often described as a “Swiss Army Knife” that can move up and down the lineup, but no matter where he is the line he’s on always feels like it’s out of sync or missing something. The line he’s on doesn’t usually get caved in but it also never excels at anything. Just complete mediocrity from his line, which I suppose mirrors how he is as a player. Not great at anything, not awful at anything, just there.

The composition of this line looks so bad on paper. Let's see how it is in game

He's well liked by the team because he's usually reliable and extremely low maintenance. He doesn't care about who he plays with or if he gets powerplay time. He just shows up every night with the same mediocre performance. A player like that is never going to endear himself to fans, but I think most coaches love players like that.

To his credit, he put up 50 points last year with practically no powerplay time and playing every forward position on a variety of lines. He's a true team first guy

A Swiss Army knife can do a lot of things, but none of them well.

No, I’m still using last year’s stats, and the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that. Your posts are always irrelevant.

When Kerfoot has a good game by winning races and puck battles in the corner his line does incredibly well. The problem is, he doesn't play like this consistently.

I can appreciate that he's well liked by the team but at a certain point that isn't enough. And Kerfoot has had good performances, such as the series against Montreal when JT went down he was 2nd on the team in scoring. I think the biggest issue besides Kerfoot's vanilla-ness is that there's too many players here who are similar to him. If our bottom six was more diverse or Keefe can find the right mixture he should look better.
