MCL is a lot better than ACL and has a quick recovery time. If it is the knee I hope it's that and not ACL or meniscus. Most of the time MCL doesn't even need surgery

i shiver with any knee issues...as a man who is in waiting period for both of my knees getting MRI and requiring surgery so i know
