I mean when you need 6 goals to win a game, it means either you're the worst defensive team of all time or your goalie was really bad.
I can just picture the players huddling over their iPads listening to Don’s words of wisdom and coming out prepared in the 2nd.

Woll followed his .875 against Nashville with a clean .857 (including an own goal) against SJ and miraciously makes it to the shootout where he registered a .000 save percentage

I can see it now. Ottawa gets swept in round 1 by Tampa. Leafs lose in 7 to Florida. All could have been avoided by NOT LOSING TO f***ing SAN JOSE TWICE IN A WEEK. Oh and NASHVILLE

well, when this team goes out with a whimper this year again, there better be riots in the streets if there arent HUGE changes. i dont care who goes anymore..including matthews. i didnt even watch the game tonight and i had nothing better to do..because i knew this was gonna happen, ive probably watched 10 games all year after not missing a game for like 15 years. damn do i miss roberts/gilmour/tucker/clark led teams. teams that had some killer instinct.

This needed to be a 2 points, no ifs or bits. Blaming the goalie is saying a “but our goaltending lost us this game”
We should’ve won with f***ing garret sparks in net, that’s how bad the sharks are, instead they scored a ppg a shg and we couldn’t finish shit in OT

I suspect there is not much mirror looking with this group. How could there be when they continue to perform like this against weaker opponents? They have never really taken any ownership of their failures, publically at least. Why start now?
I've always said one of the things I don't like about this group, as a group, is their arrogance and unwillingness to own the results. None of the leaders seem able or willing to hold the core accountable.
It's just one game though, right?
Disappointing though, especially since we have seen it for six+ seasons now.

Wasn't SJ players. Any AHL players would score on Woll. He forgot he had a stick in his hand all game.
If you're going to allow them to deke, not move laterally, and not even attempt a pokecheck - your only hope is they miss the net or shoot it at you.

If so i would let the last who scored shoot again. Or do u still need to go through the whole team and the zamboni driver?

We forced OT and got the point
3rd line been looking better lately so Domi getting a misconduct didn't help.
2nd line still looks like our most dangerous line lately

The Bad:
Woll. That own goal was brutal and he needs to make at least 1 of those saves on their goals, especially that shorthanded one.
Another shorthanded goal against. Believe the broadcast said that is now 7 SHG against.
Robertson penalties and timing of penalties. I believe this is the 3rd game in a row he has took a penalty because of a lazy stick. I can see him in the pressbox next game for Holmberg because at least Holmberg draws penalties.
1st line needs to be way more consistent and dominate.

you have to use different players for every attempt

Woll was THE reason there is no other reason I know I'm hard on goalies and that goes back to Reimer single handily tanking their season in 2014.
But the fact remains Woll and Woll ALONE lost tonight.
Literally don't score on yourself and they win.

Woll was doody but this team only competes when it's too late. Only took 59 minutes to actually play like they gave a fuck. Choking two wins to this team is gross - especially in March.

Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares, and Knies all had 2 points or more.
