Just always been a couple years behind where he should be and it forced him to take the long route through every league he's played in. Had to earn every minute and just kept showing up and earning it. Even in his 10 game stint last season you could see all this they just weren't going for him. He just needs to keep doing what he does and he will be around playing the game the right way. I'm honestly in love with how he plays the game.

I've never seen someone protect the puck in the O zone like him. It's very impressive. You basically need to commit 2 people to him if you want the puck off his stick.

The penalties he gets called against him are usually game management calls and/or wouldn't be called in the playoffs. He also gets a lot of liberties taken against him that go uncalled. I'm not worried about him in that regard. But you're right.
