You want to prepare him for a playoff run? In the playoffs it's every other day pretty much. They are not doing a rotation in the playoffs, are they?

They sure do but atm the other guy is on the LTIR and it wouldn't do to have both of them keeping each other company in the press box. So going easy and building him up may be the right way forward.
