Kampf over Holmberg for sure. Both are rice cracker bland but there’s a little hint of flavour on Kampf. If that makes sense, probably not.
I actually think Kampf elevates his game in the playoffs. Obviously he's limited because he is a 4th line player, but he gives us more than a lot of our bottom 6 guys come playoff time.

Problem with Kampf now is his contract. He doesn’t really provide value relative to his cap hit. Especially when we need to squeeze dollars to add depth

Poor Nylander playing with this shit show linemates. Good lord.
If you asked me last year this would lowkey be a good line

Robertson was a 20 goal scorer and solid point producer and holmberg was a good 2 way 30 point player

Hoped nylander could bring them to 45ish point players

How much one year changes everything

I liked Holmberg for a spell last year and Robertson produced with limited opportunities.

If you had 2 mean dudes on the wing playing with him on the 4th line, he can be the good energy, good wingspan, defensive, disruptor. Nothing too fancy, but I think just more purposeful than Holmberg.

What’s frustrating about Holmberg is we’ve seen an agitator game from him. We’ve seen a little flash of offensive ability. But no, he’s just intent on giving you that blank face, least interesting man in the world game. I don’t understand how he’s wired that way. He makes Kerfoot look like Guy Lafleur.

I don't mind his contract, I really don't.

However, I've always been hugely against paying a fee guys all the money and then everyone hardly anything. And then the 4th line and bottom d pairing minimum wage.

I don't mind 4th liners making a couple of mil, or bottom d pairing making nearly 3 mil.

I absolutely hate playing 3 or 4 forwards 11+mil though.

That was such a brutal play to turn it over just inside the line and then the defense after the turnover.. what the heck.. lol

Think it was Tavares on both.. just brutal.
We ‘ve been saying it for years.
Tavares should never handle the puck on the pp.
Net front only.

Hmm..

Those that believe the Leafs don't miss Matthews.

9 games. 9 even strength goals.

Wonder if the could use the leading even strength goal acorer over the past 9 years. Who also plays a 200 ft game?

If you’re paying the right guys it shouldn’t be a problem.

Unfortunately our combination wasn’t the right one. Especially considering Dubas backed up the money truck too soon and set a precedent for how the franchise assesses value on players

Tavares expiring presents an interesting situation. Marner as well

Unfortunately with the landscape of how the team is built, they can’t afford to bungle contracts to bottom line players (Reaves, Kampf) especially when you know they’re not going to reliably produce for you.
