YESSS, Matty with Willy and the Marner line intact

Add Knies to that 2nd line instead of Holmberg and that top 6 looking mighty fine

The fact that Mermis is with Tanev tells me that McCabe will play regardless of missing practice

I don't think Matthews and Marner are going to stay apart for long.

Pontus Holmberg in the top 6 is certainly a choice

Interesting too see where Domi slides in when he returns.

Knies up in Holmberg's spot. Maybe Domi goes to the Matthews line and Willy takea over the 3rd line?

This will be the game to watch. Top 2 teams in the division, I am really excited to see how Marner plays here. He's been dynamite but Florida will be the biggest test so far. If he can keep playing at a high level against the Champs, no reason to believe he can't do this in April and beyond.

I get that there are injuries. But once everyone is back, I hope 34-16-88 are on three separate lines. We need to give this an extended look. Knies and Domi with Matthews should work well anyways.

Why is holmberg playing 2nd line man….

This dude is not a 2nd liner, he’s not even a third liner. I’d rather give anyone else that chance

Hopefully Matthews coming back doesn’t make anyone complacent. The team, and especially nylander on his line, needs to keep playing the way they have. Nylander can’t just stop shooting and deferring to Matthews and the pp can’t just go back to Marner trying to find Matthews on the 1T.

My only issue with the three stars on separate lines is that it really reduces their 5v5 ice time, having to feed three lines big minutes instead of two. Definitely something to consider when Domi is back tho as we know he works well with Matthews

Holmberg has been better the last few games than he has for most of the season, but yeah he has poor offensive vision, been losing the puck for no reason all year, falling over and struggling to turn in tight. I have to guess that Berube likes his effort and the fact that he's quite strong, he tends to win most of his one-on-one puck battles when they come down to strength rather than skating. I still think he can be an effective 4th line winger playing with some combo of Lorentz/Dewar/Kampf, but getting him out of our top 9 will go a long way to getting more offense out of the team.
