Under the old rules you would go from 8th to 4th (which is what happened to NJD in 2011). Now, anyone who misses the playoffs and wins the lottery gets to draft 1st!

And no, we would not package such a high draft pick like that just to get rid of clarkson?! Give your head a shake!
