I don't care what happens as long as Ritchie isn't in the top 6.

I think Sandin should be coming out today. He was terrible yesterday.

I actually think Muzzin should be the one sitting tbh! The guy is just making way too many brain farts out there, and he is getting walked constantly by the opposition, and he isn't even using his body to finish his checks like he used to... I think he needs a "maintenance day" as this generation calls it, let him sit tonight.

Yes Sandin was brutal but he's a rookie, and quite honestly, I think the smart move is put him back in, and give him a chancce to bounce back.

I'm looking forward to the stretch of hockey where the Leafs are not shooting below 6%... Hopefully they don't stay at the bottom of the league in shooting percentage while being among the best in high danger chances.

Hopefully it starts tonight.

We thought the same about that Penguins game and everyone remembers what happened there. Isles might be struggling but they are a well coached team!
I know sire, and them pens too, but now we LEARNED from those and that. We learned and now we be pummeling opponents to the fullest. Hard. We guarantee a WIN to ourselves tonight sire. We harder than them is, got the best personel. they missing errrbody. They ain't have no d at all now... we do!

Yep, flood gates need to open. It’s inevitable, like you say hopefully tonight.

I missed last night's game, did someone say Sandin and Holl played together? Who played with Muzzin? I hoping to see Lily draw in tonight.

Liljegren played last night, he was paired with Sandin (who was brutal last night).

Holl played with Muzzin last night. Holl was equally terrible.

Dermott probably draws in tonight for Sandin if I had to guess.

I think Islanders take this game. Leafs always crumble against the Isles especially after the Tavares signing. Isles havent won in a while and they have a new home, Tavares their enemy is in town. Both teams played last night. So lets see.

If anything I want AM34 to have a big scoreboard game.

Sandin's going through some growing pains. One of those frustrating nights where his flair doesn't translate into production and he's also getting beat by making the soft play (on the second goal?) as opposed to the correct one.

Long term, I kind of wonder what kind of role they envision for him. I know the team loves him but is he expected to grow into an Adam Fox type guy who is a small unconventional number one field general, who can pile on the points? Or is he a serviceable top 4 flaws and all? For me, the answer to that question is all about the risk to reward ratio.

Isles kinda suck. And they have covid.

But Woll is playing. We still can't score.

And the Isles will get up for Tavares.

These lineups are likely all switched around for both teams but whatever:

Interesthang to see if they instert the stats wise productable Bunting back to the dirty first line sire. Tonight. Ritchie might play with tavares nore spezza and simmonds, on our thug-on-da-line line. For life sire. FOR LIFE.

I'm still livid with that pathetic 5 on 3 last night. Almost $50 million worth of talent out there (if you factor in Reilly's new deal) and they could barely enter the offensive zone. The Oilers had a 5 on 3 in the late game and it was a thing of beauty. Like a well oiled machine. Oilers are gonna mop the floor with us this year. Anyways, lets get back on track tonight with a W.

Just start on time and not give up countless first period chances.
It was an obvious issue in the past but that hasn’t seemed to be a problem in a while.
I’m hoping the crowd is going to be going ballistic and they have to play through some adversity. We know how that’s played out in the past, interested to see if the team has evolved or if we still get the deer in the headlights.

f*** it let’s go something weird for this game
Ritchie - Matthews - Tavares
Nylander - Kerfoot - Marner
Bunting - Kampf - Kase
Engvall - Spezza - Simmonds

Ritchie isn’t coming off the top 6 for some reason, so I’m leaving him there, but he plays with Matthews and Tavares. Switches it up and puts Mathews with a goal scorer and playmaker in Tavares and it gives Tavares an even better passing option in Matthews

nylander can get set up by kerfoot and Marner
Marner has two playmaking capable players on his line to pass to him
Line is a pretty fast line
Marner can find Nylander with stretch passes for odd man rushes

other lines are fine just swap bunting with swedens impression of a giraffe

Feels like a game we need to show up and really compete for.

Isles are on the ropes, injured, but desperately need the win. Will be interesting to see how we show up. It will say a lot about this team IMO
