I feel the leadership group of this team is lazy. Mentally lazy. They always want to do things the easy way. The opponent has no interest in this game, well, neither do we.

Well led teams do not play like this. Sure they lose, but they make the opponent earn it.

It's a good reminder that this is not a serious team imo.

They can be good, but don't seem interested enough to do it consistently.

Even if they comeback and win this one, they have already shown what they truly are. Which is the same they have always been with this core.

Auston Matthews basically summed up the entire culture of the team when he said "maybe we were hoping for an easy game" going into the VGK game a few weeks ago. That line goes this era's tombstone.

These guys can absolutely play hard and focused, but when they aren't in a crisis and don't need to prove the doubters wrong, they'd prefer to have an easy game.
