And your parents are fine with that?

There's nothing wrong with that. My sister took 2 years off and my parents keep complaining about it and hold it against her. They don't get that its her choice.

Well who's paying for her school/does she live at their home? If not, then yeah that's kind of off-base but if they're paying and she's living at their house, I think they have a right to say something. That's just me though.

They aren't mad because its costing them money. They're mad because they just want her to have a job so they can feel like they've done their job as a parent. They don't get that their job is already done.

Best comfort food for me? Triple Chocolate cake with cookies and creme ice cream, banana chopped up, sprinkles, chocolate sauce. So delicious.

Comfort food?

Mom's rice pudding. Not the runny **** you get in stores or at diners, but solidified with custard and lots of raisins, with some cinnamon.

That and Stuffing. MY moms stuffing is just awesome. IF you use the chicken broth from the store you don't even need to cook the bird.

Maybe it has something to do with your culture?

COuld be.

LM you should get your parents to switch to a culture where they make arrangements for you to be married to a nice boy from a rich family so you don't have to worry about a job. :sarcasm:

I think she's already in that culture. Not saying her family will do that but back in Asia, that is a common act.
