Charlio you severely undervalue ROR. (IMO)

He's a monster defensively and put up good numbers as a 21 year old.

He's pretty much Mike Richards- potentially better defensively. Offensively, we'll see where he goes.

Takeaways are huge in hockey.

If I'm building a winning team I want ROR before I want Duchene. That's just my opinion.

Mike Richards is an overrated POS.

I don't see why Grabo isn't considered better.
He's better offensively, defensively and is signed to a better contract. And has more heart and isn't lazy.

Richards declined pretty quickly. Was a stud in Philly up until his last year

But you are forgetting the fact that if you get Richards, you indirectly get Carter as well at some point

I didn't feel like mentioning it in that trade thread, but ROR didn't play with Statsny last year, his main linemates were Landeskog and Hejduk.
HIs ES TIO sync'd up with Stastny 8sec difference and PP TIO with both Stastny and Hejduk.
Still Landeskog is a beast.

I question anytime a players point total doubles in one year.

Richards seemed to do well on a stacked team. Those rumours about his wild lifestyle might be somethign to look into.

This shows who he played with most last season when 5 on 5:
http://www.behindthenet.ca/nhl_time...4=C+LW+RW&f5=COL&c=0+1+3+5+8+7+9+11+13+15+17#

Statsny is not listed in the top 5 (defensemen do count in this and 3 of the top 5 for ROR are defensemen).

This shows who he played with most on the PP:
http://www.behindthenet.ca/nhl_time...f4=C+LW+RW&f5=COL&c=0+1+3+5+8+7+9+11+13+15+17

Statsny is listed as 4th most here

Just shows they all played alot together, and the top 4 fowards got rotated or something.

ROR is #3 for Stastny PP. Hejduk has Stastny #3 and ROR #4 ES.

So everyone played with each other. :D

Is there a better feeling than getting an e-mail from your Prof. saying that your afternoon class is cancelled?

My 8am to 7:15pm day just turned into 8am to 12pm day.

I'm jealous.

What do we have to show since '03? Kulemin, Gunnarsson and Reimer :(

For a team that has not made the playoffs since 2004, you'd think they would have some of the best prospects in hockey and a top ranked farm system. But they don't.

It's just depressing. *sigh*

Since 2003 our NHLers include:
2005:
- Rask
- Stralman
2006:
- Tlusty
- Kulemin
- Reimer
- Holzer
- Stalberg
- Komarov
2007:
- Frattin
- Gunnarsson
2008:
- Schenn
2009:
- Kadri

Rest we can not be sure on. Quite a few NHLers, just no impact NHLers (other than Rask who we traded). Not sure if other teams are better or worse on average. In quality I'm sure we are lacking. But by the number we may be slightly better.

I was made aware today that some people cut the webbing of their feet open and put tobacco or other types of drugs in there. It is popular for hockey players apparently, man that is messed up.

Meh.

Could be much worse I guess. Although it wouldn't hurt to just draft 1 star ... Come on Kadri, boooom

Detroit seems to be the accepted ideal model for player development and drafting, here are theirs:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Detroit_Red_Wings_draft_picks

2003:
- Howard
- Quincey
2004:
- Franzen
2005:
- Kindl
- Abdelkader
- Helm
2006:
- Emmerton
- Matthias
2007:
- Smith
2008:
- McCollum
- Nyquist
2009:
- Tatar

By the number of players compared to Toronto they have less, although I did list a few players for each team who haven't played a lot in the NHL and seem to just be starting to make it although their careers are still up in the air. However, the quality of Detroit's players I would say is easily superior (at this point in time).
