Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose to Rangers 4-1

They don’t change anything up ever. Can’t comeback when you stick with the same lineup the whole game.

What exactly is the downside of loading up lines to get back in the game? PIttsburgh always does it with Sid and Malkin. Tampa has done it with their big guys. I don't get it.

But we can't say that on here, because he is Jesus. He should be called out by reporters and his coach, or moved down the lineup, but again, nobody will do that to Matthews here.

Whatever, the 11.6m is not my money, but if he is hurt, fix it, because whatever it is is hurting his play and our team.

Thinking it's about time to file a missing person report for Matthews. Brutal lately

4g/5p in last 6 games while doing a good job of taking care of the puck in the defensive zone.

He could be better, but he has definitely not been brutal lately.

we had Mcbackup made a huge save to get us in the playoffs, was nothing short of spectacular when called upon..... than the leafs decide to keep MR. AHL the guy is out of position, Ducks when teams shoot on him, rebounds go to center ice should of been waived in training camp....

55 shots on net and another ~20 attempts blocked, against a backup and only 1 goes in. Just wasn’t meant to be tonight, but they dominated most the game.

Not much luck tonight. Lots of shots but given the choppy nature of the game it was the right strategy.

A couple of breaks went the Rangers way. Sparks with the backbreaker on the 3rd goal but he didn't lose the game for them.

PP just can't get a break either.

The team looked tired tonight as well after last night's win.

Not sure Sparks would have stopped the 4th goal either. Oh well, they played well enough to win on a second night of a back to back. Goalie was terrific, little bit of puck luck and the outcone may have been completely different. Good on the Ranger goalie for being big and knowing how to use his size.

2 things on Matthews. 1. Would he look better if playing beside one of Marner or Nylander - yes. 2. The problem is that if he is being paid like McDavid he shouldn't need a guy like Nylander to generate offence for him. Look how good McDavid has looked playing besides wingers much worse than Kapanen or Marleau

Nope, no finish. Can't put clear open looks from the slot into the goalie's chest TWICE.

If you're playing high slot you need to have a good shot. Kadri does not.
