At 5-2 I had a feeling they were going to do it just for the memes. Losing in OT because of our sieve goalie is the best part, too.

Epic moments in game, lose in OT. Tale as old as the Matthews era. This would have been the sort of storybook comeback that we'd be talking about for years, but then we lose and any hopes of turning it into something truly special flutter away. Team cannot close.

He was actually okay in the first also. The bad goals against came in the second. The ones in the first came off brain dead turnovers.

He was no worse than the skaters... we all know Sammy is not playing like he did last season, so this is no surprise. The fact the skaters put in 40 minutes like they did, when they clearly did not have the goddamn flu was worse imo.

Leafs are never out of a game, but that was a badly played 40 mins.

Matthews is now up to 10 posts I think and on pace for like 70 goals.

Samsonov had no chance on the first two goals.
The third was a bit unlucky, he had to come out and challenge the shooter, the bounce off the boards and the resulting shot while Sammy is scrambling back...ya maybe shoulda, but a bit unlucky imo.
Fourth, Chinakov(?) blew by Brodie (Panarin did the same against TJ in NY) and drives hard to the far post, should have been a save.
Fifth, should have been a save.
OT, he stopped the first breakaway, our fellas had the chances to bury them, he played small on the shot and that shot was a beauty. Had AM sniped his chance in OT we'd be singing his praise, whada shot, in this case Johnson didn't miss a great opportunity.
Overall, not good enough, but he wasn't responsible for all of them as the Leaf team in front of our net was awful during the first and second.

The third, oh my buddha. That was fun. I mentioned this last game, but we don't get our 4th without a win at the dot by JT. He didn't get an assist, but he was instrumental to that goal. He's done it three games in a row in the last minute of play. Good to have a fella who win you that draw late in the game.

Bert needs to pick it up. Respect to his mucking abilities, but 9 points in 26 games at 5 per...Robertson is one behind with 6 less games and 6 less minutes/night.

I missed the first few minutes of the game, what happened to Reaves, I know he was injured, but how?

Samsonov went completely brain dead between goals 3 and 5 like we were going to give a touchdown or more. He completely stopped playing and the closeups looked like he was just waiting to get pulled.

I was a huge fan of Samsonov last season, and I was in his corner longer than most this year. But this is pretty much the breaking point.

Give Jones the net until Woll is back. Start looking to make a change via trade. I don't think Samsonov can cut it here.
