I think the bad omen was the same day Matthews suggested Treliving get the team some help at the deadline his team went out and stunk the casino out in Vegas.

Maybe Tre should've seen that performance and had second thoughts about trading away more first round picks & prospects?

In any case, they'll be better but I think it's a pretty safe bet: Game 1 in Tampa Bay, here we come!

I was saying it the whole time that we shouldn't invest in this group. There's no foundation for success here. Nothing works.

And on the point of bad omens, there is some seriously bad energy around Auston Matthews this season.

Last two? That is 7 periods in a row this team has been dummied. 7! In a row...

Neither goalie was good tonight.

Rielly was a travesty. That play with the goalie pulled was absolute amature city. Like it made me throw up in my mouth a little.

Outside a couple of the big guys making some sharp plays, they got absolutely hammered tonight. It looked like the Vegas game outside the goaltending. Zero chance.

The defensive coverage was attrocious. Avs had so many great looks from the slot... especially off the rush.

I don't see how this team has any chance in hell of winning a round, let alone going on a run.

Just to wrap, I know Matthews had some assists tonight, but this is a game where you need your best goal scorer to pot one. Could have used something from this seasons leading goal scorer too.

Offensively, I thought Marner and Tavares were fire. Everything else was a tire fire.
