Definitely a lot of overreactions. Laughton will be better and Tanev should be back soon.

Just hope the goaltending can get back on track because that’s a concerning trajectory right now.

I wasn't in the GDT... they have been filled with too much extremism lately.

That being said, I think it is okay to call the team crap tonight.. and over the past three games. I dunno what others are saying, but this is not a good team right now. Bit of a joke really as without outstanding goaltending I am not sure they are anything more than a wild card team, if that.

3rd line was totally invisible. We finally had a good 3rd line, I knew management would screw it up. I always dread trade deadline, same crap every year. No cup in 55 years, and makes the same stupid mistakes every year.

Absolutely. If the true big wigs like him, he'll stay. I don't think winning is the be all and end all here, so I'm pretty sure they're loving the job he's doing.

Stolarz could only hold off a title wave for so long. Leafs Dzone coverage was awful. Colorado had a tone of cross ice options and slot chances.

Both Rielly and Domi need to be removed as soon as possible. They are a negative almost at all times on the ice

Sure, but they could make so much more money if the team did win... but I agree with the others that winning is not the be-all-end-all. Running back a losing core for 8 seasons is proof of that, regardless of how much you might like each individual player, as a group they are not winners.

What do you expect? Team hasn't won in 60 years, team did nothing in mid 00s and mid 10s, team finally gets talent and they fail massively.

Yeah. We're in big big trouble. I will fully reserve judgment until Tanev comes back and I'll see what this team can do when they're fully healthy. But it's not looking good right now at all.

All teams go through a bad stretch, the problem with this team is that as I pointed out 20 or 30 games ago, "they are a mirage because their goaltender has been bailing them out".

WHen they aren't bailed out, this is the result. Berube HAS to set the tone now or he won't get them back in time for the playoffs. They were defending so well for the first half of the 3rd and then a breakdown causes a goal. Ok, play safe and for OT, right, nope, a high risk play by Marner leads to a penalty and its 5-4.

I haven't said anything about him, but tonight was my breaking point. that play with the goalie out was full on embarassing for a professional hockey player.

I'd rather they do something than nothing. It didn't cost much, and I do think he will settle in a be a benefit to the team. Cannot evaluate him tonight.. he only arrived today, so it would have been weird as f*** for him. Nothing we gave up has any value for this "window" we are in.
