Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 5-4 in OT | Lead series 2-1

Two goals went off our own players and went in one of them was going wide and rielly sticc put it bacc on target we lost but it’s a game 9/10 we win
The series is 2-1 for the Leafs because Bob has allowed some uncharacteristically soft goals. I feel like he’ll settle down which will make it very difficult for the Leafs to win the series.

We’ve out played them the whole series that can find positives in the win but they have to worried regardless
Last game seemed like the last guy that didn't score an own goal by have the puck ping pong off them would win.

Both team strategy was simply to toss the puck into the crowd in front of the net and hope it would bounce its way off and in past the goalie.

Can't remember another game with so many fluke goals of fortunate/unfortunate bounces.

Rielly and Carlo cost us the game.

Game two we came bacc n beat them game one we took it too them game 3 we took it too them and had an atrocious second period I’m not worried the least bit and I don’t think they controlled play when your down it will look like that when your pressing
There is absolutely nothing to worry about. This has to be the most stress free playoff series one can imagine watching, because the Leafs can’t fail at this point.

A very tough game to lose.

Infinitely winnable if Woll is better.

Hopefully he sorts himself out and is his usual self on Sunday so we can split the Florida games and look to finish in Toronto.

Murray absolutely has to be on the bench. Hildeby looks petrified and why would you have 2 inexperienced goalies when you have veteran 2 time Stanley Cup winning goalie at your disposal? It makes no sense.

Disappointed with the loss but there is nothing fatal here. We weren’t going to sweep and if we can go up 3-1 after Sunday, we’ll, that’s a very good situation to be in against the defending Stanley Cup champions.

Go Leafs Go!

Like I said woll needs to dial it in and we’re good he doesn’t have to be past playoff woll just has to be confident he needs to understand that this is his time to steal the net cause at some point stolarz should be healthy

There have been about 170 suspensions handed out during Parros' tenure, specifically counting on-ice offenses that were subjective and not automatic. That's 5 per team on average. The leafs were the "victim" of three of these offenses. Is that so outside the norm that we need to be up in arms?

I wouldn't call that goal interference. I'm a biased fan but it went in legally.
Spezza got 6 games as a first time offender.

Matthews got 2 games as a first time offender. DOPS made a statement out of Kadri twice and Bunting. your analysis would bear weight if you went through all major incidents for and against Toronto which should have resulted in suspensions and either didnt (in the case of against) or did (they got it right this time but then for some reason they didnt get it right after that).

Also that play should have been blown dead the instant Carlo played the puck with a broken stick. so Wes McCauley can see the puck in the scramble but couldn't see Carlo playing it with a broken stick? give me a break. TJ Luxmore I believe calls Domi for going up high in the first period and promptly Wes McCauley ignores Evan Rodrigues trying to make tavares eat through a straw?

Yes that was my only beef with reffing entire game .. play should have been blown dead da instant Carlo played puck with a broken stick and a 2 minute penalty should have occured .. my guess his claim would be he didn't see it and therefore did not blow his whistle .. either way a reffing error which league will note

It feels like the Panthers turned the page last night.
I could see it if it was last year's Florida team, but not this year. They got pinched by the cap, and they weren't able to replace what they lost. Last year's Florida team was not at all leaky defensively like this team is. They just give up far too many chances, and they are quite slow. It fits the Leafs style well. Washington is similar in terms of speed. Carolina presents the most interesting difference amongst these teams. If the Hurricanes had a goalie and a couple of additional legitimate scorers, they would likely win the East. But those two factors are going to hold them back.

I desperately don't want the Bennett on Stolarz to become the new Perry on Tavares - that basically breaks our team and we never recover. I'm hoping it won't, but with Wolls play last night, my guy needs to absolutely steal one in Game 4 or 5.

Florida won’t win the Cup, but this series is theirs for the taking despite the thin margin for error they given themselves.

They just make too many mistakes and take far too many penalties. I think it will continue to limit them in this series.

FLA seems so slow compared to Ottawa. My wife kept asking me if the Sens were on a power play because we were stuck in our end with them buzzing around. We can handle what FLA is giving us. They know they fluked this game with the Playoff Reilly hat trick (1G for 2G against) and they are a lot more worried than they will let on.

It's why Carolina will present such an interesting comparison. They are like Ottawa on steroids, but with even less scoring ability. The advanced in that series will be funny to see because Carolina will likely dominate the Leafs in every metric except the score, simply because of their inability to score and their goaltending.

Counting your chickens wayyyy before they hatch.

Let's not get carried away here - Leafs are still in a fantastic position but they need to elevate their gsme to a completely different level here to get 2 more wins.

Matthews has 10 points in 9 games while playing a defensively responsible role and penalty killing. Gets nothing but grief from (some) Leafs fans.

The great and almighty Barkov has 7 points in 8 games playing pretty much the same role. I don't see Florida fans bitching about him.

Are you serious? Florida lost 2 games and their boards were talking about how it was a great championship era and how they got to experience it in their lifetimes.
I don’t go to those rat infested pages…
