Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 5-4 in OT | Lead series 2-1

Does this fit the “refs are out to get the Leafs” narrative? I think not……..
I think that’s been put to rest when they missed the trip by McCabe just prior to the Knies goal in game 1 putting the Leafs up 2 with 5 minutes left.

You wouldn’t think that readingvthe pists in this thread……

I thought Woll would be better and would be more confident this game. But almost every shot looked like it could go in. They blew a good opportunity last night and it could cost them. Whoever wins the next game is taking the series.
Woll is not an NHL goalie. I don’t know why people are acting like he is good. He is a back up AHL goalie.

This series is as good as over now

It is hard to win when only half the lineup is winning when they are on the ice

I can't think of many teams who won without having a good bottom 6.

Would be really nice for the bottom 6 to take over a game here and there and help win.

As long as we win all our home games, we should be fine.

The other team won with only half their lineup winning when they’re on the ice.

I mean the Cup, not a single game.

Which teams had their bottom 6 producing this poorly?

Maybe there are a bunch, I can just usually think of teams winning where the bottom 6 has had some solid contributions.

Life would be too easy had the Leafs won game #3 to take a stranglehold on the series.

Life's tough.

We'll get them next game.
We’ve out played them the whole series that can find positives in the win but they have to worried regardless

Winning a Cup is hard.

They’ve already had a successful season, in my opinion, and would be more than happy if they won only one more game. They had some lucky breaks in games 1 and 2 and I think have enough to push it to a 7th game.

Not by a long shot.

The Leafs went into that game flying from the start vs. a desperate team. The blown 2-goal lead was bad, lots of mistakes, couple of players didn't show up, they were gassed in OT and Woll was shaky, but again, the fact that they took that game to OT is a good sign.

That was probably the best the Panthers are going to look and they barely won.

Now onto Sunday and if the Leafs win - and I do think they will bounce back - then they come home up 3-1. At worst they come home with a chance to take a 3-2 series lead.

So it's not over, for either side.

I thought Panthers would win game #3. I believe SC winners are something like 8-0 in game #3 when trailing the series 2-0. What I did not expect is the Leafs being shot out of a cannon to start the game and how difficult it would be for the Panthers to win this game. Game #4 is another must win for the Panthers so I expect them to take it to the Leafs again.

I haven’t watched every minute but from what I’ve seen Florida has controlled the play.

This is far from a successful season, winning one more game would be a failure.

Not sure there is any way to spin it otherwise.

I'm more confident we'll win game 4 than I was game 3.

They got outplayed last night, the 2nd game was 50/50, it's been an even series.
Two goals went off our own players and went in one of them was going wide and rielly sticc put it bacc on target we lost but it’s a game 9/10 we win

We had some lucky bounces too... they controlled play and outplayed us.

They’ve won the division and are competitive in this round, that is far from failure.

We've dominated series and lost, those series were also failures.

Being competitive in the 2nd round is a failure.

We've had better regular seasons but those are irrelevant too because the goal is the Cup.
