Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 5-4 in OT | Lead series 2-1

This loss stings. We should've won this game. If we go to losing the series, this one will be remembered.

We'll simmer the f*** down once we win dude. Stop acting like these players are above criticism because they won two f***ing games.
The guys tied to for the nhl playoff lead in points it’s not about winning 2 games he literally won us 2 games himself they would be playing golf without him

They had that game in control and yes this loss stings because 3-0 is a huge advantage. Now the cats are back in it.

They have back down 3-1 to win a series. They are not worried at all about being down 2-1. The leafs need to keep going and play their best game ever tomororw

Tough loss as it would of been Florida back breaker if we did win.

The dreaded 2-0 lead

Was a tough road game they played . Regroup and win the next one

None of us thought this would be easy.

Last night's hockey game - Panthers vs Maple Leafs. Florida's 2nd goal --The puck was in the paint heading toward the Toronto goal when it was stopped by a Toronto player with a broken stick. As the play continued, there was a scrum and upon video replay the referees correctly ruled a goal but no penalty was called.
According to the rules, playing the puck with a broken stick is an "equipment" penalty and should be called regardless whether a goal was scored or not.
Did the referees miss this call?

FLA definitely looks vulnerable and beatable. No wonder Bennett took out Stolarz. They're giving up an average of more than four goals per game in this series. Imagine how TOR would be doing with solid to good goaltending.

I think the Caps would pretty much smash FLA. I don't think CAR matches up as well against them (although I think WSH doesn't match up that well against CAR and may lose because of that).

Hopefully the Leafs finish the job against the Panthers. I think they will. If FLA does return to the SCF, McDavid will get his Cup this year assuming EDM can finish the job against Vegas.

I love how he's played, dude has been fanf***ingtastic and he was gassed, but Nylander on that goal disgusted me. There I said it, absolute garbage.
I can agree more of a significant play cause it lead to a lost for sure I find it similar to the marner play so I’m assuming you didn’t like that play either than?

is that really the rule? I haven’t read the exact text but I figure it would work like any other penalty and that we’d have to have touched up before the call is actually made. I guess they thought we never gained possession after the broken stick play.

I’m not even upset about that one. The response right after to tie it was the bigger disappointment.

You won't get this obviously, you think you're saying something about my bias but really that you went there is about you. Cheers.

Washington would present an interesting series and maybe that’s as far they’ll get this year with all wear and tear on them. I feel like they would beat the Canes if they win that series, but unless they get healthy, they’re not winning the Cup.

Yes. They miss a bunch of calls every game.

Still have a chance to clinch it at home. Just gotta win Sunday.
Yes but 3-0 lead is essentially hard to come back from
Now we’re 2-1 with game 4 in florida

In overtime we had chances, playoffs is all about taking advantage of the few opportunities you get to put teams away to have success and that could have been one
Still hopefully but big opportunity wasted, would have been ideal for Matthews to finally make a statement!!

No I’m actually not what I’m saying to you is the same reason why I said marner wasn’t at fault for the goal against yesterday is similarly why I’m not crucifying nylander too bad they were gassed ……..no need to get defensive my friend

Does this fit the “refs are out to get the Leafs” narrative? I think not……..

I can't remember a game with so many shit, bounce goals to be honest. Playoff hockey is strange.

the good is we’re scoring more than 2 goals every game which has been an issue in past playoffs.

The bad is we’re allowing more than 4. The defensive breakdowns in the 2nd just can’t happen.

He can’t use his greatest asset from the all the years of his career, his shot, for whatever reason. I seriously doubt it’s mental, whatever it is wrist, back who knows? Didn’t go to Germany for a brain scan I don’t think. Still doggedly contributing, not as much in the way we’d all like , but giving his all
I believe his wrist his mangled, it's what he uses to score a majority of his goals and that just isn't an option right now. I'm saying I think the injury and working around it is taking a mental tole. Not that Matthews is mentally on vacation or something.

Again, I think he's played solid outside of the goal scoring side, but rightfully people want more, not 13.25m for a Jordan Staal.
