Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 5-4 in OT | Lead series 2-1

The current champs, the Panthers went 2-2 in OT when the game is on the line last year on their way to a Cup.

Leafs are 2-1 up in the series. Looks like they've been fairly ruthless.

They're 9-2 in OT over their last two cup runs, 10-2 if you wish to include tonight which also makes them 3-0 vs us in OT.

I dunno, something's got to explain how the Leafs became the only team in the NHL to have their opponents take no suspensions for a decade, and even now I think the total is 2... Maybe?

Parros pretty clearly has an issue with this franchise. No other franchise is even close.

And honestly, that second goal, which was some of the most blatant goalie interference I've ever seen in a game, that was McCauley not blowing the whistle. You gonna tell me he had complete sight of the puck that whole time?
There have been about 170 suspensions handed out during Parros' tenure, specifically counting on-ice offenses that were subjective and not automatic. That's 5 per team on average. The leafs were the "victim" of three of these offenses. Is that so outside the norm that we need to be up in arms?

I wouldn't call that goal interference. I'm a biased fan but it went in legally.

There have been some pretty eyebrows raising moments with DOPS, but yeah there's no conspiracies.

Our media coverage probably does us a disservice shining the spotlight in a non helpful way, but that's kinda our own fault. It would be great if our media strength was a positive.

People are, in general, flawed and prone to incompetence. Mistakes have been made. I just don't see what good it does to waste mental energy thinking the powers that be are all actively working against you.

Honestly, it was a good effort from the Leafs.

Woll was quite disappointing but other than that the Leafs put up a good show and were resilient under pressure including when down a goal.

The Panthers were never going to be an easy out no matter what.

At least now they won't have to face the pressure of blowing a 3-0 series lead (which they nearly did against the Sens).

Where the heck is Bobby Mac, he has done nothing this post season. He is putting a stake thru the heart of his career

Tough loss but we were never going to sweep them.
Woll was kind of shaky and especially that Nosek goal cant go in.
For me Stolarz is clearly the better of the two goalies right now.
Game 4 now becomes a massive game and hopefully we get the win.

Should be up 3-0. I get the whole "its the panthers, youre not gonna sweep them" but that comment is for genuine back and forth game, or a clear cut loss.

The goals we gave up to lose this one were just sad. We scored 4 goals. That should get you the win relative to the chances Panthers had.

Hopefully Woll got off all the rust now.

Woll NEEDS to lock the f*** in. Unfortunate game with a lot of unfortunate bounces. Cant win em all. Get back at it tomorrow and put this series on the ropes.

poor 2nd period, other than that and the unfortunate OT goal I felt we were good. Next game, Go Leafs Go!
Poor 2nd period, but our team does a good job collapsing down low and minimizing the severity of the scoring chance the Sens or Panthers had. Getting outplayed in the 2nd should not have had an impact on the outcome based on the score

If Woll continues to falter, Leafs need to go shopping in the off season.

Mo is noticeably slow. Florida is all over him on the forecheck.
Florida is hammering the D at every opportunity, sooner ir later this will have consequences, Mo’s already looking gassed and Carlo taking multiple hard hits won’t be far behind. Ditto for Benny and OEL, McCabe and Tanev seem more than comfortable with said punishment…….

Chins up here guys.

If you told me we’d be up 2-1 after Game 3 before the series started I’d be satisfied. Sucks ass to have blown two separate two goal leads especially the ridiculous sequence to make it 3-3 but can’t dwell on that.

We have a huge opportunity to steal one on Sunday and finish them off at home.

He didn't have a good night in the least. Oh well, he's been absolute money these playoffs; I can't expect him to be on his game every night.
In the playoffs, that’s exactly what he needs to be……..

I think Carlo gas done a very admirable job being Mo’s D partner, a job that’s thankless and impossible to excel at………

He and the team have done well overall. They are up 2-1. Matthews has been mostly good and Knies is carrying the team somewhat as well oddly enough.

Marner has done some good but his overall impact has been neutral or maybe slightly positive and that's mostly because I see everyone covering for his timidness

You could make the case now that Wes MacAuley would want the Leafs to win now to shove it back in Sheldon Keefes face.
Well, if the Leafs do lose this series it’s nice to know Wes MacAuley is the reason, losers always find excuses I suppose…….
