Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 5-2

Why we believe this experiment can work, I have absolutely no idea. Sometimes top talent just does not have that chemistry together for the big moments. We are clearly that team.

Individually they are wonderful, push comes to shove they shrivel up. Look at matthews at 4 nations, Captian of nothing.

We need a change of direction. End of story. It'll hurt, but less than a decade of 1st round exits people.

At the end of the day they just don't care.

Even Rielly the one who showed passion and heart at times succumb to the Leafs culture and had a horrendous year due to poor conditioning and why should he care? Who's gonna hold him accountable?

Now Knies is asking for 9? Horrendous rotten culture of overpaid losers that don't care.

Rielly is the culture it was him and kadri which was the right approach then kadri got shipped out if we had a tough guy here kadri wouldn’t have needed to get suspended the construction of this team has been an issue since the 90s that’s 30 years of horrible management

Morgan doesn't deserve any bonus reputational points for showing heart and passion. Over the years he's shown just a bare minimum more than the skill guys up front and gotten a disproportionate amount of flowers for it and is a little more relatable in front of the media with a modest, self-deprecating tone. When it comes down to it he's worse than the others but it goes under the radar because he's likeable.

It's like we spent a bunch of money on Lamborghini's and the playoffs is a snowstorm in January.

These guys are high end for what they are but not fit for purpose.

You lost to the 30th place team in a battle for first place in the division? 2 weeks after losing to the 32st place team? Blowing 2-0 leads in both? Just cancels out the good work done earlier this week.

Honestly we’re missing him a first and Cowan gets it done and our top 9 is cup ready whoever on his wings wouldn’t even matter then you can spread the wingers out

It sounded like you were using lack of rest as an excuse, if I misunderstood then my mistake.

My point was that not being rested enough is no excuse for their poor play, especially when they played so well against NY with less rest. That point stands and if instead of saying they had 1 day of rest before NY and 2 days rest before NSH it's correct to say 0 and 1 days then that's fine but you're arguing about semantics so who cares? Not me.
 
I'm still annoyed Nashville gave Schenn that contract. Seriously, can we have one depth player outperform a contract and re-sign a reasonable deal? Piss off Nashville. This goes to all the teams that kept taking Lyubushkin from us too. There's no way they knew who he was until he was on our team.

Nashville "won" the offseason and still can't score unless it's on us

They would not be the first team to lose because of partying. Read Steve Avery's book. It may not be right but it is pro sports .

Agreed whether they were partying or not, it’s not an excuse they came out so strong in the first period. So I’m not buying the partying excuse. They just stopped playing really

Like you said, it's not right. And especially for this team after all the playoff failures, this late in the season battling for 1st place it's more wrong then it normally would be.

I'd rather play the inexperienced Ottawa team than having to go through Tampa Bay first round. Gotta get 6 or 7 of 8 points next week. PHI, @ SJ, @ LA, @ ANA. It's very doable to get at least 6 of 8 before the matchup against Florida.
