Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 5-2

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
The overboard reactions are all part of the fun!

Sorry many of us have more emotion than the players... but it's why we are fans. It's a rollercoaster, the ups, the downs, we are here for them all. Oh, and most of us will be back on Tuesday... with more overreactions! Good and bad ;-)

You are 100% correct about where the frustrations come from, for the most part.

No one here needs to apologize or hold back. Let it fly, it's the only reason this place exists. Blow some steam off... overreact, have a laugh, and get ready for the next one.

I find it comical that many of the so called sane posters, and this is not aimed at you at all, prance in here and claim their maturity and hockey knowledge brilliance, throw some shade to try and make the keyboard hereos feel bad about themselves and then prance back off with their heads held so high.

Come here, read what you want, reply to what you want. Igonore who you want. Don't judge people and have some f***in fun people.

Note, this applies to like 4 people lol

Absolutely and I’m guilty of it too, I’m in the GDT loosing my mind over Matthews not back checking on the 3rd goal LOL

3 games in 4 nights
That might be an excuse had they played last night, but any time you have 2 days rest after a game IMO that should be plenty.
Give the lads a break.
NYC and NSH are party towns. They won 1 of 2. All is well despite the loss .
Seems like you're suggesting they lost because they were partying, and you think that's OK. Seriously?

I think their main issue looks to be a lack of scoring depth outside the top 6.
I think their main issue is that 4 similar soft forwards take up 50% of the cap and yes the support staff is poor but that happens when you have such a contract imbalance. Also the selection of players with the remaining cap is very very poor. Treliving has been as much a disaster as Dubas was.
The common denominator is Shanny. That loser has to go and we will need the do a serious retool. Resigning Marner and Tavares will be a disaster and further cement failure for another half decade

Keep waiting it was just a dumb ass trade period put him at 3c scratch Robertson put jarnkrok there or put holmberg at 3c and put him on the 4 line winger spot but Robertson should be out next game either him or Robertson should be playing not both
Neither one should be playing. Should be Greybonkin

I expected Toronto's offense to overwhelm Nashville's AHL-level defense. That is what should have happened, but they took the night off. I get it. because it happens to every team, but this was a waste. I don't think it will make any difference in terms of standings because Florida and Tampa are likely going to keep losing, but there was no reason to lose this game. On to the next, which is against another dreadful team.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda………

I’ll agree with all but the JT part. JT is worth every penny of 7 million for 3 more years, we won’t replace his production or play for 7 million. When all is said and done I think he gets more.

Not one you want to lose, but it happens. I was as frustrated as anyone. They need to be better and they know it. But it is hockey and sometimes you just don’t have a good game. Hopefully they continue trending in the right direction and find more consistency come playoffs.

Ya, I’m torn on JT. I believe he was the catalyst that started this whole mess simply because he was the wrong thing they needed at the time. That said he seems to really care and has elevated his game this year. I would be super comfortable with him at 5 mill for 3 years.

I'm forcing all of my kids to leave Canada when they finish high school. This country is broken now, and it's only going to get more broken.
My retirement years are not going as planned, I didn’t have Canada becoming a dystopian nightmare on my bingo card, everyday I see myself saying (in my best Danny Glover voice) “I’m too old for this shit……”

Yeah he is easily worth $7m based on this season's performance. Let's see how he does in the playoffs.

I think JT will be reasonable and buy some goodwill from the fan base by taking less. It won't help when the other 3 are me first losers and Rielly's game falling off a cliff.
