Preds don't have very much to work with. Leafs lost this game and it was indeed a schedule loss but only because of the massive character flaw in the leadership group for disrespecting a weak NHL opponent with a sub NHL effort. It's how they roll.

Think it was MacLean who said you need a real good 3rd line to succeed in the playoffs. We have two small wingers who can't handle the cycle in their own end on our 3rd line. Need to fix it fast.

Right now you’re hanging closer to 2 4th lines then a third and fourth. Once you swap McMann and Holmberg you lose that 3rd line part. If Pacioretty can come back healthy and become a winger for 91 and 88 you have hope. Even replacing Holmberg with Pacioretty helps that line have some skill.

I agree. The problem is we don't have a proper 3c.

I'd try and give Tavares and Laughton a go. They both play that boring cycle game, and Laughton can play that puck retriever role and feed Tavares in the slot and put McMann with them for speed who can also cycle the puck. Then put Nylander with Domi and Robertson. That line had some success when Matthews was out.

The management group, once this core was drafted has been so bad... like, probably one of the worst 8 years of managment of all time. Imagine having this core and doing nothing with it?!
