Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 5-2

I really do hate this franchise somedays.
Woll is NOT a good goalie. He suffers from Freddie Andersen disease. Has a good game or two, then the next few games lets in complete stinkers that absolutely cost the team the game.

Preds don't have very much to work with. Leafs lost this game and it was indeed a schedule loss but only because of the massive character flaw in the leadership group for disrespecting a weak NHL opponent with a sub NHL effort. It's how they roll.

Think it was MacLean who said you need a real good 3rd line to succeed in the playoffs. We have two small wingers who can't handle the cycle in their own end on our 3rd line. Need to fix it fast.

Realty check.

Micro-view, hurts their chances at the division. Still salvagable. Makes the game vs the Flyers a must win for that goal (if it is even one they have).

Macro-view, just continues to build on the loser-core narrative, as much as a regular season blown lead loss to a bottom feeder could be.

They had a good first, NSH was done until that dumb penalty by Knies. Once NSH scored there, combined with the fact the Leafs had already decided they were done for the night, turned that into a very unwatchable effortless mess.

It's rare for this team to outwork an opponent and lose. It's not so rare for this team to be outworked lol

If we don't win the division, my expecataions will be ultra low. If we win the division my expectations will be moderately low. All based on past performance of this same core in previous playoffs of course.

That might be true, but realistically it's just the Leafs.

If you always knew the outcome where would the suspence be?

If the Leafs went down 2 early they'd lose audience so the script is early lead, knowing home fans would hold on and then let the home american team craw back into the game with Leafs fans now committed to the game even the the outcome was scripted before puck drop.

No trap, just marketing.
 
It just doesn't work as a team. We gotta retool in a big way. Like. Huge.

I'm fine with growing pains, but Matthew's gets us a kings return to speed it up and who knows....Captains of other teams have left their teams to come play for their childhood teams before... ;) it could happen.

Anyways better than a decade of trying the same thing over and over again. It's hilarious at this point, can't even cry, just gotta laugh.

Berube sucks. Morgan is still a go to guy. We threw away better players for this coach to pick losers. I wasn't joking a few games ago when I said fire him

Everything you say should have happened 3-4 years ago... just sad.

I don’t think there is a team out there that consistently underachieves and puts out half assed efforts as consistently as the Leafs so I truly think we’d struggle with any team in the playoffs.
