Bro we’re missing our top player at every position we’d mop the floor with you guys like the other two meetings this yearOnce again, a fantastic win today against an elite opponent in the spotlight. Really impressive.
Anyway, best of the season to all of you.
Go Jets!
The player who assisted on all our goals, and was the only + player on the team (and our best scorer this year both in total and per game) was "invisible"?Tough to win without your best defenceman, best scorer, and best goalie. Made tougher when Nylander and Marner were invisible. Woll wasn’t to blame but he wasn’t great and he had to be. His rebound control awful. Timmins sucks so bad, we can’t go into the playoffs with this guy.
Ya, other then throwing some comedy post around I am finding it harder and harder to take them serious because they are not a serious team and certainly not a contender2 pages in the PGT.

I think we've learned by now points don't always tell the full story with this core. They'll have like 1 or 2 good shifts the entire game and put up 2-3 points and we'll say they did their job. Them getting points is good and all but we also need them dominating every shift every game. The Leafs are scoring .7 Goals less per game.
Matthews is .6 GPG less than his career, never mind last year.
Nylander is pacing to crush his career high, Marner is on pace for a career high in points. Tavares is having his second best season as a Leaf.
They are pretty much bringing it every night.
Outside that 3 game stretch where the 3rd line was on fire no one else is.
You thought Nylander had a good game because he assisted on our two goals? I think I have higher standards for him than you do. We needed him to be above average with the key players that were missing. You know when Nylander is having a good game, he’s dominant with the puck. He was not, and that’s ok. He’s been great for us…just not today. The player who assisted on all our goals, and was the only + player on the team (and our best scorer this year both in total and per game) was "invisible"?
Almost makes more sense to pay 2 elite players (mcdrai)for being elite than paying sums of parts that cost double(core 4)Ya know with good teams you pay attention to the little things in the regular season coz you think it'll make a difference in viewing in the playoffs.
No difference for us of course. It doesn't matter if we have a bad defence, or a good defence or bad goaltending or good goaltending, until every one of the core 4 shows up consistently. The only thing consistent is we lose in game 7 or do or die games.
He was actually pretty good can’t dominate every game but he won his minutes that means if every other line stalemates we win regardless I don’t get the invisible part he was pretty visible hes far from the problem tonight holding him to high standards and grouping him in are two different thingsYou thought Nylander had a good game because he assisted on our two goals? If you paid attention you would have heard MJ say that Woll is having trouble with rebounds. I agreed with him, especially in the first. Watch the first again and count how many pucks he kicked out into dangerous areas.I was at todays game and at no point in todays loss did i think wolls rebound control sucked...there were problems today. That wasnt one of them if you paid attention
He usually does this season that’s when you can tell if he’s on or notIf you paid attention you would have heard MJ say that Woll is having trouble with rebounds. I agreed with him, especially in the first. Watch the first again and count how many pucks he kicked out into dangerous areas.
If you paid attention, I said I was at the game. I didn't hear commentary on anything. He was the cause of a beauty chance in the 1st putting the rebound on his defencemans tape. And yes that is an intentional play.If you paid attention you would have heard MJ say that Woll is having trouble with rebounds. I agreed with him, especially in the first. Sure looked different on the tvIf you paid attention, I said I was at the game. I didn't hear commentary on anything. He was the cause of a beauty chance in the 1st putting the rebound on his defencemans tape. And yes that is an intentional play.
I don't care what MJ has to say. I saw the game live. I saw a positionally sound goalie that was let down by his teammates in front of him.
A backdoor cross crease pass that Kampf didn't have good positioning on. A good save on a tough screen that the defender was late covering. And a puck underneath his pad that the player didn't box out the Jet and let him dig it out.
That's what I saw live in front of me. He played fine and was certainly not the reason they lost today.
Who knew that your depth will be lacking if one have 4 players at 11 mil or more in salary….?The Leafs are scoring .7 Goals less per game.

I repeat, watch the first period on tv, you know that thing that shows many angles with commentators that have played the game and are quite knowledgeable. You can also rewind and watch a play over and over if you wish. Like the rebound he let out on Marner’s penalty and the one he let out on the first goal. He wasn’t to blame for the loss but he wasn’t great. If you paid attention, I said I was at the game. I didn't hear commentary on anything. Who can you pick up from the minors on a league min deal then? That’s all you can afford, no?Time to add a forward. We are so inept offensively. Have been all year.
Ironically Kyper and Stellick called him out for his 4:55 shift.
Should have stayed for 20. lol. Anyway congrats to JT another 2 goals, 3rd star. He’s going to cost us on the next contract.Crazy that Nylander wasn't on the ice for a goal against today.
I don't know. I thought he was pretty good outside his ridiculous 5 min shift.
Too late for that re tool maybe but rebuild doesn’t make much sense we need to trade for Calgary captain and Rasmus andersson and let myers play with rielly on the third pair I guessIt's the same story year after year. Current players just can't score against dense d. Peg played a tight playoff style defensive game and the Leafs were ineffective against it. There is no way around blowing up this core. It had to be done like five years ago.
Can’t please everybody, lol. Not too long ago there’d be posts complaining 25 pages after a loss, 5 pages after a win. Lol2 pages in the PGT.

You're right, he wasn't very good by his standards. He certainly didn't play at the level that he's capable of or that we've seen many nights. You thought Nylander had a good game because he assisted on our two goals?
