Tough to win without your best defenceman, best scorer, and best goalie. Made tougher when Nylander and Marner were invisible. Woll wasn’t to blame but he wasn’t great and he had to be. His rebound control awful. Timmins sucks so bad, we can’t go into the playoffs with this guy.
Why does marner and nylander get grouped only when marner doesn’t have a good game loool marner wasn’t even invisible he just wasn’t good again

Just finished watching, did not read the thread.

I hope no-one serious, is surprised (other than the people TROLLN)

Take out a team's #1 Center (who is also the best goal scorer in the league), #1 Goalie, Best Defensive Defenceman and have them play the current best team in the League. If you have a brain you just can't be surprised that The Leafs lost this one.

Side Questions and Points...

How do you get to take a full two handed (base ball style) swing and not get a penalty call?

How is it a good goal when the puck is frozen and gets punched out and the play goes on?

How can you hit someone near the puck square on the numbers in the danger area of the boards and not get a call?

Too many key injuries and an exhausted team. You can't win them all. If that illegal goal didn't count, maybe the ending could have been interesting.

Team has looked pretty pedestrian for over a month. They don't seem to be executing on what Berube wants, and are often playing on the back foot it looks like. PP also sucks again, and the D is really lacking a dynamic presence with Rielly falling off. As of now I don't feel particularly confident about this group despite their place in the standings. Stolarz can't steal them every game, especially now that he's out for over a month.

One thing to point out, Berube won his cup coaching half a season….im not sure his coaching style of hard nosed hockey is sustainable over the course of a full season, especially with this charmin soft core team.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year everybody

The team's in a tough spot

Our best player and goalscorer, best defenseman and one of our two tandem goaltenders aren't fit and it's forcing guys further up the lineup than they ideally would be
Add in the fact we've had a lot of games so far this month and Winnipeg are good you are looking at a tough situation

We weren't good enough, simple as that
We need to be better and fight through this adversity

Timmins started off surprisingly well, but yeah, I wonder about him at this point.

He doesn't really do anything offensively and isn't physical or particularly hard to play against.

He's Liljegren without the upside. It's looking like they should have kept Timmy instead of Timmins.

I get losing Matthews is gonna hurt, but we still got 3 guys making 11 million dollar towards the cap playing on forward so the offence shouldn't get hurt much. I don't care what anyone says about Matthews being the best goal scorer in the league. They all get paid to produce offence consistently and since they have no problem taking up so much of the cap that also means they need to show up every game.

What happened to Tanev? Missed the game but haven't seen anything about Tanev except on here.
