Why?

1. PP is abysmal. Gut wrenchingly bad.

Core 4 can't make PPs work because they're all the same type player.
Stale like eating steak for the 300th time in a row.
Big changes need to happen for the DNA of this team

The PP sucking this bad is exactly why these 4 guys cannot gel together in the playoffs.
Overpassing and overthinking.
Constantly.


2. Rielly is a HUGE Negative.

Horrible on the back end. He must be moved. This topic is dead horse beating but WOW how many decent D men, need to play with him and be made worse night after night after night before you man up and say he just isn't a fit for this team. Mccabe is playing on his offside and we already see the misplaced passes and positional mal-adjustments making this team weaker. We are not a serious team with this guy.

3. Domi, Jarnkrok are absolute passengers.

Soft on taking the body. Cant defend. Cant score. Undersized so they get bullied around.
These guys play worse than Robertson who is a min wage guy.

4. Dubas screwed up 5 to 6 years ago. Some called it. Now we know it but now its glaringly in your face.
- Too much cap for 4 forwards who can only play 1 way.
- We need to sign Stolarz or Woll to big contracts soon or we will be MID of the division.
- We need some quality D signed and the cap will make it tough.

We need to suck for a bit i'm afraid.

Big changes. And Marner leaving this year is going to suck even though its the right move.

Turned it off after 3-0 but until that point the Leafs looked a bit better than Vegas imo. Hill was just way sharper than Woll in that first period.

Woll looked awful last game as well. Can't walk into another first place teams barn and expect to win after spotting them a 3-0 lead in the first.

Hope he can get back into form by the time the playoffs roll around. I'm confident enough in Stolarz starting in the playoffs but it would be nice for Woll to be rolling too just in case.

On the year, we've crushed Tampa 3 games to 0 outscoring them 15-8 but we still have 3 games coming up against the Cats and we need to find some consistency in our bottom 6 to going against their depth. TDL gonna be interesting.

In a competition sport, when you don't win, because everyone has talent in the best league in the world, the answer always is, you didn't put in enough work to win. Be it during the game, in practice or in the off season. you gotta put in the work to win. It is always about effort and preparation.

Fraud check game showed this group is nowhere near the real contenders. Stand pat and retool in the summer.

Definitely the right thing to do, but just watch they’ll acquire a bunch of old plugs at exorbitant prices to further handcuff fixing this team. JT will not be worth the cost, nor will Marner, they’ll both be given ridiculous contracts and the pain will continue. Mathews already looks like a player who’s 4 mil overpaid, and Willy is a highlight machine when he’s scoring, but does little else. Give me a team of Knies’ and I’ll be happy, the fancy boys don’t have what it takes, but they’ll run it back once again……….

That being said: gave up a ton of odd-man rushes and breakaways, which is unacceptable. The pairing of Rielly and OEL has never worked and will never work. Need to break that up ASAP. I think the Tanev injury has solidified how badly we need another RHD to pair with Rielly.

Doubt it, no one at MLSE will make the hard decisions, I read they laid off a bunch of workers this week yet Shanahan still has a job, I guess removing the deadwood didn’t figure into the equation…….
