Can you imagine if McMann is out, WN is suspended, and nobody else returns from injury, what Saturday is going to look like? LOL

Matthews has to play, full stop. Saturday will be three and a half weeks since he’s last played. Hell nearly 4 weeks. He’s had his time off and he got to see whatever special doctor is over in Germany. If he can’t make the injury worse then he needs to get in there. The team is limping, and he’ll be better than Quillan or whoever the hell the next man up is.

Knies I think will play since he practiced without a non-contact jersey last time. But with head injuries who knows. I’m more lenient with him there but I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t go Saturday.

Tough loss but Florida came ready to play and us missing some really important players was just too much to overcome.

At least TB just lost.

We need to get Matthews back because we can't sustain winning against top teams without him.

Marner and Tavares are not working well together 5v5. Tavares shots per/60 drops significantly with Marner vs when he was with Patches, Domi, or Nylander. His xg/60 drops significantly with Marner.

Some bad luck and bad penalties. There were times when it was 2-0 we were close but we can’t score anymore. Stolarz was ok, some of the goals we’re seeing eye shots, thought the kid line and A Nylander looked good.

We need to get reg players back soon. Things get busy next month.

Grebenkin and Minten should play ahead of Robertson. They’ll make some mistakes, but I think they need seasoning.

True but if the Leafs want to win the Cup, that’s 4 rounds of tough physical hockey.
One thing I got from the past two Cup Champs, both coaches said their team was prepared to play the 5th round.
Not crapping at the boys as no teams ever won 82 games. But Panthers is the top dog and there is a gap between them. Now I don’t think the score indicates they are 5-1 apart, as they are closer to that.

They’re still trying to build a competitive playoff roster which is precisely why I’d play the kids over Robertson or Reaves. They need to play and get better and maybe next year they go into the season knowing that at least their slots are filled. With all the unknowns and aging D they can’t afford to wait another year to develop the team.

I didn't think Nylander had it in him.

Wonder if Parros is gonna suspend Nylander now too. Should probably suspend Grebenkin at the same time for that phantom boarding call. Last I checked the player had to actually hit the boards for a boarding penalty to be called.

That winning streak was starting to turn people soft. Everyone was so happy about another November hot spell they forgot about all the failure preceeding it. All of a sudden Marner is a favourite again.

Shanahan probably thinks Leafs fans have the memory of mayonnaise.

So long as fans continue to forgive and forget he's right. May as well enjoy the regular season success now. Because in case you've forgotten there's another punch in face waiting for them all in April.

I'd really like to see Nylander respond then too but I doubt that will happen.

The idea of making a prediction of an outcome is ridiculous. The house always wins.

You said the the Leafa would win because Fla was playing poorly. You forgot to mention the Leafs were playing with house money.

Fla is the better team. They won the Cup last year. The Leafs may usurp that from then but they are stil the team that loses every year in the first round.

There was no drama by saying the Leafs would lose tonight. The odds were always in Fla favour. Too many variables in play.

Losing streak vs winning streak. Who is healthier. What goaltender is playing above or below their career avg to name a few..

Outside of that... have you watched the Leafs in a big game over the past 9 years?

I'm not sure any game in November can be a big game.

Yet you do it all the time and are usually wrong.

Florida is the main competition in the East, we basically iced a pre-season line up last night, I like our young guys but any mistake the team made, Florida made us pay.

Grebenkin took an early penalty. Which was not a penalty in my books but it was a make up call
Otherwise he was good in my books. Definitely more ready to play against Florida than others
Grebs should have picekd up a point on Marner's goal

Minten was good as well I thought. Really held the puck well around the boards. 2nd goal was though he and Robertsson was standing around when their player was taking poke at the puck

Robby, as usual, some good followed by some really bad. Had a two on one, at the puck somehow he over thinks and goes to his back hand. Easy save

As of right now Minten and Grebs have outplayed him and clearly offers more. Both Grebs and Minten physically stood well against Panthers

Steeves, hardly noticed him but that 4th line was decent again. Not noticing him is a good thing
