Post-Game Talk: Leafs Lose 4-3 in OT | Lead Series 3-1

It’s not about pressure. It’s just about finishing your business in a workmanlike manner, with killer instinct.
They tried. The pp had some good chances. Shame JT was out for it.

They'll probably win game 5 and all will be fine and dandy around here. I've seen nothing of Ottawa in this series that shows me they're capable of reversing sweeping. That being said, there will be some major butt clenching around here if the Leafs don't close it out in 5.

Yeah, I think we'll see their best game of the series so far on Tuesday and we'll wrap this up. Not sure my stomach can endure watching a potential Game 6 if it comes to that.

I had a crazy dream and in it I could hear a disembodied voice, ethereal and moving away as if it was a wisp in the wind. I don't know what it meant, and it seems as if nobody does. I'll try to sound it out maybe someone will know something.

Prints humble compact two thread or 2 the he'd!

Does any one know anything about this, maybe it's an old witches conjur. I'm sure I heard it before but can't pin it down as to where or when!

It is when the fan base has ptsd lmao
The history of this team, are you kidding me.... the greatest choke of all time starting with a squandered 4 minute pp in overtime that could have ended the series in a sweep. It's just out there waiting to happen.

Yaaa you’re not wrong. But teams played great tight hockey all season under a new coach who’s actually won something recently, it’s going to end differently this year.

I don’t think they win 4 in a row, but if they win on Tuesday I like their chances of forcing a game 7.

But he did. Just like Domi did. Using this line of thinking, if Tkachuk didn't score in third of game 3, we'd have won in regulation. If the puck doesn't hit Gaudette in game 2, we'd have won in regulation as well. Would that have meant we played any better or worse?
Exactly, there is great parity in the league. Saying one team is poor is just silly because the difference could be 1 goal.

Maybe the keefe leafs. These boys are different. Pressure won’t matter. It ends Tuesday anyways
Pressure can be a good thing. Both teams have met expectations for the season, however with a 3-0 lead you’re expected to win the series.
I think the pressure is on the Leafs not to revert to past performances. They’ve had shaky goaltending in the past - we’ve seen a couple of suspect goals in these past two games, one player goes down - they can’t overcome it. All the pressure is on them to prove they are a different team.

if McDavid being spotted at LCBO after they beat Dallas in the semifinals and had a few days break is any indicator, all these fuks would do is drink anyway on their time off. It's okay they lost, bit of a shorter break and they don't start partying too hard from this weekend while they wait.

Robertson needs to draw back in. How much was his shot missed on the 4 minute power play? Easily the most dangerous shot on the 2nd unit.

It’s asking too much of Pacioretty to be out since February to be able to jump into a hotly contested playoff position.

His skating and timing is not up to speed and it shows, and he hasn’t played with the physicality that he did at beginning of the season.

Knies-Matthews-Marner
McMann-Tavares-Nylander
Domi-Holmberg-Robertson
Lorentz-Laughton-Jarnkrok

Let’s get it done.
I like this though I might switch Jarnkrok and Holmberg. Actually I'd be okay just sitting Holmberg and putting Kampf on the fourth line.

Holmberg is a good skater and tries hard but he gives up the puck too easily, besides Kampf will help with the penalty kill.

This may have been discussed, but...

Did anyone see the clip of Sloth hyping up the crowd during the 3 stars, mouthing "We'll be back here! We're coming back!"

I hope the boys can shut that prick up. Please end this in 5. Don't make me watch another loss in Ottawa.
Leafs should be playing that clip on repeat in the dressing room before the start of Game 5.

l wonder if there will be a penalty if Zub receives a head shot. That said, the team has to stay out of the box.

Boggles the mind that they’ll fine a Nick
Cousins for being an asshat but won’t discipline an actual head shot where someone could have gotten hurt. The distance between Cousins actions and a player safety moment vs a guy actually getting bonked in the head. It’s like the guy running disciplinary action has brain damage or something.

I'm not worried at all to be honest.

At home with last change, Berube can put together whatever lineup he wants. They just need to bring it and I'm sure they will hear it from the coach and one another. "Let's get it done".

If they had been beaten 4-1 the last couple of games I'd be concerned. Their lack of desperation during the 4 min PP is also a problem as was their special teams in general.

If the refs call a straight game Leafs will win Game 5.

Im hoping this is a case of the leafs playing down to the sens level, I don’t think they’ve been good enough.

The main issue for me is generating offense and this team seems worse at it than previous iterations.

Ottawa’s exertion level in their big pushes has not been particularly scary. Leafs just need to follow the cliches of playing their own game. And play their own game. Lock it down at home. Do your job properly and stop talking about pressure and the past. This situation is not that special. And we are further ahead than any other team in the playoffs.

They have LCBO in Alberta?

Robertson would not have been on that PP
