MacKinnon with 4 goals already

I wonder, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but does Colorado actually try to pass the puck to Mack on the power plays?

Because the setup men on our power play avoid Matthews like the f***ing plague.

Especially Nylander.

He floats in an out of coverage to get open lanes and is waived off every single time.

It quite literally led to the short handed goal against.

The Leafs played nearly 4 periods, and had 8 minutes of PP time, and Scott Laughton ended with more ice time than Matthews.

Im not sure what's going on here, but it hasn't felt right with Matthews for some time now. Really needs to use these 2 days to figure it out

Matthews utilization, puck time doesn’t really look normal. I feel like Holmberg is more noticeable with shift to shift puck handling and trying to make a play. He’s gotta be more involved that just shut down defense.

All the dicking around trolling the sens and their fanbase aside

FACTS
4 games played and 3 games have gone to OT. Could easily have been a tied series now like 2-2 or something

except for the 1st game, the other 3 games have been relatively close going to OT. Leafs have yet to show that they learned something from past experience for closing out series.

And lets be honest here. ottawa are newbies and quite frankly not that good and they are pushing the leafs to the limit. like WTF is this shit

There is a lot to clean up… first of all Domi’s ridiculous penalty cannot happen. Bad luck JT wasn’t out for the OT PP… maybe Woll needs to go in next game? Get em next game at home…

Ya, not on the goalie who had a .857 save % and not a lot of high-quality chances against.

I think he's earned some bad nights, but still, he is the main issue with the game.
Couldn't disagree more. Which goal is on him?

Save % game by game isn't a reliable metric.

New series now.

Not overly worried, but the Sens getting one, and having 2 days off, changes things.

Hopefully the time off lets Matthews and Marner sort themselves out - kind of tired seeing how much time theyre spending not being impacts at ES right now.

I’m frustrated with that line right now, but Berube has got to mix in an offensive zone start for them here and there. We saw what happened when they got one. Set play and goal. Way too many defensive zone starts for the Matthews line and yes they are doing a great job not giving up goals but they are chasing the play offensively

ngl Leafs fans annoy me with how over the top they go every year without even waiting for some significant success. I will say, completely unquantifiable but the Leafs this year look much more composed.

Matthew is anti-clutch. He hit the post on a net front scramble with a wide open net during the PP. Tavares would have buried that.

I called this pre-game.

"Strong feeling Ottawa wins this one then the Leafs the next game. Which wouldn't be a bad thing since it'll help momentum, not getting too comfortable, and not too much rest. But hey wouldn't complain if they win either. Hopefully Tampa starts winning too"

I'm honestly more than okay with the fact Ottawa won. Winning 4-0 can cause a team to put their legs up and get too comfortable heading into the next series. Too much of a break can be a bad thing in the playoffs. Close game on the score, but imo the Leafs outplayed them badly after the 1st which is a good sign.

Now they can sweep them in game 5, don't get to feel too comfortable, a bit of a shorter break, and imo they should be better prepared for the 2nd round now. Let's get it

Again, how about we beat Ottawa first before worrying about the next series?

That was a very everybody's tired type of OT goal, pretty annoying.

Played a good game, bounces were tough, expectation here is they close this out at home on Tuesday.

Goal 1 is a clear one timer he had full view of

Goal 2 is a crappy five hole shot that turded through him

Goal 4 is a normal screened shot, he’s a 6’6 goalie who looked like Samsonov in net the entire gsme

He will probably bounce back, but he was horrendous today
