Post-Game Talk: Leafs Lose 4-2

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
It's weird, the chemistry is gone. It's like everyone just met. Let's call it a slump. Even when they find their direction our Leafs have issues. Matthews is playing hurt and can't score the puck. Rielly's game is slipping and he's become a liability. So even when we right ship. Trouble ahead. It's going to be a interesting off season.

3 coaches and same issues. If you can’t see it’s the cores fault I don’t know what to say.
There are multiple issues - the core 4 has more than outlasted its welcome + Berube is a bad coach for this team

There's no reason for the Leafs to be this bad in the regular season. We know they're playoff bums but now they're regular season bums too

Does Marner even hit 100? Yet another year of choking that away. He’s so fit to stay on this team I’m almost tempted to sign the choking player for the choking team

Goaltending really coming back to earth has shown what we are, frauds who blew our assets on minor pieces.

Considering how much difficulty that the Leafs have with scoring, you'd have thought that Brad would've traded for someone who could put up some points with our few assets left that were worth anything rather than getting a center who produces little offense and isn't elite defensively. I'm still hoping he gets better, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

Also although it would suck to lose a great talent for nothing, I would be perfectly fine with Marner walking in the summer. Tavares can go too if he's asking for too much money. It would hurt to lose good players like that, but this team needs a massive overhaul because this current roster is done unless they suddenly wake up for the playoffs and surprise everyone by going far rather than flaming out in the first round like most of us expect them to.

Just another uninspiring, gutless performance where we were clearing the 2nd best team on the ice

You can't even complain about getting goalied, our skaters are getting the crap kicked out of them as well

were just a bad team right now and Laughton has made us worse. Our pro scouts are idiots

Just a poorly lead and managed organization from top to bottom unfortunately

Groundhog Day

They are a big tier below the contenders

Thank goodness we mortgaged our draft capital and prospects

Biggest losers:

- Tre
- Matthews - he’s not a winner and should never have been named captain
- Rielly - Time to go
- Marner - Goodbye
Some may call this an overreaction, the realists call it facts

I can’t see this team beating any of the other 15 teams that make the playoffs.

If Matthews isn’t playing like a top 5 player in the league, this team is average, at best.

I had more pride in the team in the Ballard era. We had a shit team but the players had pride in the logo on the jersey at least.
Yep, I felt more hope during the Ballard years too. Our players back then worked hard, however the team as a whole was never good enough talent wise.

This team is talented but overpaid and are lacking the heart our Leafs had back in the day.

Goaltending blew it tonight and has been doing that consistently since the 6-5 win over Pittsburgh.

I have absolutely no issue with the way the defense played tonight.

Stolarz lost this one.

Even if you think only 1 goal was on him that was enough tonight.
Score some f***ing goals, get some f***ing shots. We got outshot again, we got outplayed until the end again. We couldn’t score a pp goal again, we couldn’t stop a pp goal against again.

You just shit on goaltending regardless, no one should take you seriously because you have such a biased way of viewing games

These f***ing Leafs would wait until after the TDL to go completely to shit. Were 7-2-1 heading into the March 7 TDL. Treliving sent out too many futures (especially for Laughton) but the team was right there with Florida for the Division. Should've better read the situation though and only acquired Carlo.

Oh well. Can't wait until 2032 when this team is contending again with a new core group of guys, assuming the world hasn't ended by then.

May be the new core is more about hockey and less about the money

just look at this Allen quote
