Post-Game Talk: Leafs Lose 3-2 In Shootout

The trade made sense and I don't think they regret it nor they should, but kind of funny the rumors they are looking for a RHD after trading one away.
They’re trying to win a playoff series or two and he wasn’t going to help them.

instead of playing Detroit or Columbus we will play Tampa or Florida now. Makes sense we love a first round exit.
I would actually prefer to play Florida or Tampa than Detroit or Columbus (especially Columbus) in the 1st round, as weird as that sounds.

A few too many people were critical of Brads pick up of Tanev.

I imagine most of those people realize just how important he is to this team. A critical piece for which if he goes down the defense if far less competent. I recall when the Habs beat the Leafs in that series that they stated once Muzzin was injured they knew they were going to win.

Leafs D is a little tougher to play against now than it was then but it can never be too tough or imposing in size for any serious contender.
Yeah. It's crazy how much criticism Tanev and OEL got right off the bat.

Critical of the term and if they ever got in Cup contention, chances are he’d be a burden. The cap is anticipated to go up drastically and they’ll like never be in contention so it may not r matter.

They need to beat one or both of Florida or Tampa in order to get to the ECF. Losing to one of them and it should curtains for this core. Panthers probably add another forward by the TDL in which case I can't see Tre beating their additions of Jones and said forward.

AM has 2 goals since the start of February, and that includes the 3 Four Nations games.
Call me a little concerned.
This is why I'd be hesitant to go all in unless it is for Dobson. Without him at 100%, I can't see them beating Florida or Tampa if Vasi remains Vasi.

I wouldn't mind Tampa, but I think Florida would be a 1st round exit.
For me i think the order would go:

1. Tampa
2. Florida (don't know any Florida fans so shouldn't be any more embarrassing than it is already.
3. Detroit (would be as embarrassing as Montreal and the original Columbus)
4. Columbus (can't see a world in which we beat them in a 7 game series).

f***ing shoot it .male the d move

They just dont look like a possible champion

If these guys actually think they’re championship caliber in the room, their mission goal must be to sleepwalk their way into it. The culture of half asleep skill, no urgency, let’s win it on one shot after screwing around all game long is alive and well. Like you don’t always have your legs and OMG the travelling and back to backs and whatever. But if have a 2-0 lead against one of the worst teams you have to be able to cruise control button it down on veteran reflex. You gotta be able to wake up for that 4 on 3 OT.

When they win it looks like they’re just clearing the bar. When they lose they look as unserious as ever.

That sucks, but shootout is shootout. Won some that we probably should have lost, and now we lost one we probably should have won. Got a point.

One bright spot is that Holmberg had one of his better games of the season. The break really seems to have helped him.

We've been getting outplayed for a long time and that's not a good thing

It seems like our best pathway to success is hope Stolarz stands on his head. We're lucky he's elite

The Leafs are not starting on time like we did during the Keefe era. It's a problem. I don't understand why this team has such a huge issue playing a full 60 minutes. Hell, I will take 45 minutes.

They looked pretty gassed last night. 3 in 4 with travel takes a toll, it happens to all teams.

Barely anyone criticizes Mo at this point. Astonishing. He is far worse than Jake Gardiner at his lowest.
