Gonna take Dekes some time to contour up some bs excuses. I'd expect his bs spins in a day or two.Anyone came in and say we are over reacting yet?
Wonder what Dekes have to say about this year.

I'll watch, but it won't matter. This team will be fighting an uphill battle until they win a series, even if we all get the blood we want this summer.
Dubas fans will never admit he's been horrible. Hopefully, we never have to hear about it again after tonight.Oh brother, now it’s not the GM’s fault because he “listened” to the fans wanting grit so he got grit, that’s too funny. Let me enlighten you, Dubas didn’t get grit, he got a bunch of washed up has been’s that USED to play with a edge, but can’t anymore, and he got said players because that’s all the cap room left over from being taken behind the woodshed by WN, AM, and MM.
If it was the other way, guarantee Simmonds plays a big part and Perry does nothing. I'm starting to lean towards the "fire the coach and maybe the GM" group. Maybe they need a Tortorella to wake them the f*** up. At the very least, we need to know why every player that gets to Toronto plays worse, and why the team plays down to every opponent. And that's been going on since 2004...There is a reason he was dumped by Philly, Nash and Buff. Not sure why Kyle would sign him over Perry at 2x the money. Perry had a huge impact in this series. Simmonds did virtually nothing.
Carolina isn't in this dvision.I'll be watching too, with the full expectation that they probably miss the playoffs. We are going back to real divisions and ours is a monster. I don't think we are in the top 4 teams...
This year those standings would have been:
GP W L OL PTS PTS% GF GA RPt% RW
Carolina Hurricanes* 56 36 12 8 80 0.714 179 136 0.625 27
Florida Panthers* 56 37 14 5 79 0.705 189 153 0.67 26
Toronto Maple Leafs* 56 35 14 7 77 0.688 187 148 0.616 29
Tampa Bay Lightning* 56 36 17 3 75 0.67 181 147 0.652 29
Boston Bruins* 56 33 16 7 73 0.652 168 136 0.571 25
Montreal Canadiens* 56 24 21 11 59 0.527 159 168 0.446 20
Ottawa Senators 56 23 28 5 51 0.455 157 190 0.402 18
Detroit Red Wings 56 19 27 10 48 0.429 127 171 0.348 16
Buffalo Sabres 56 15 34 7 37 0.33 138 199 0.259 11
I don't feel we are actually better than Boston or Tampa. Its going to be a battle to say the least!
Some Leafs fans are like the cult of Dubas. Even when he does wrong, it's everyone but his fault. From Kadri, Freddie, Babs, Barrie, and now Marner, its always somebody but the person ultimately in charge of the team. He got his coach, he paid the current RFA deals, he decided he could navigate around the JT deal, etc. This is on him. He's had 3 years to improve us from a young team that pushed good teams to 7 games, and we are as bad as where we started.
The leafs are way too soft and when the playoffs start it’s obvious you need to rebalance the team get bigger and stronger Marner has to go we need some tough Saskatchewan boys who get frost bite on their balls and still have sex with their girlfriend not this preferred pronoun safe space soy boys we have
Hopefully next season we don't face Price in the playoffs. That's all.
Not bad coaching but rookie overcoaching
Spezza should have had few shifts with Matthews to get him going
Simmonds over Robertson. Why

I will not let you guys slander the following players who put in work in this series:
Nylander
Kerfoot
Spezza
Galchenyuk
Rielly
Brodie
Muzzin
Holl
Campbell
These guys did their best. Everyone else had varying degrees of failure
Perry's a gamer and always has been, but the Habs style suits him a lot more than the Leafs. They spent 90% of the series just throwing pucks into the slot hoping for the best.If it was the other way, guarantee Simmonds plays a big part and Perry does nothing. I'm starting to lean towards the "fire the coach and maybe the GM" group. Maybe they need a Tortorella to wake them the f*** up. They will never live this down. When your top players are low energy, low intensity, part time players, it all flows down to the rest of the guys, even the ones that used to be gritty, aggressive, etc.
Carolina isn't in this dvision.
Robertson just isn't ready yet so I get why they didn't bring him up. I do think Brooks should have saw more action, at least over Engvall. Idk if our 3rd line even got a point tbh.
hey Babcock had first round exits too. So I’m not saying things would be different just that the coaches have a different approach.
well Babcock had a different approach.
matthews dictates what Keefe’s approach is.
Wishful thinking, team Dubas are regrouping for a new PR campaign.......Dubas fans will never admit he's been horrible. Hopefully, we never have to hear about it again after tonight.
Engvall setup the GTG in Game 6Robertson just isn't ready yet so I get why they didn't bring him up. I do think Brooks should have saw more action, at least over Engvall. Idk if our 3rd line even got a point tbh.
Lou sends his regards from the TD garden in round .... wait for it .... 2.Like the saying goes. To have playoff success your best players have to be the "best players" or else you wont go far
our best players unfortunately also take up 50% of our cap and we cannot have quality depth courtesy of the GM in charge at the moment.
So we are kinda screwed moving forward. I am pretty sure Matthews walks as a UFA in 3 years. Marner isn't going to do anything since he got paid and gets to do all the commercials for that extra moolah
Nylander after he matures is probably going to go to a team that has a chance at winning the cup.
Meanwhile Tavares' contract is not going to age well (although I wish him a speedy and safe recovery and for him to be healthy for his family).
I guarantee if Lou was still our GM we are not up to the kahoonaas with the cap and probably would have had some playoff success too
If a team can gain energy from their goalie making unbelievable saves, I am sure a goalie can also feel nervous when the team in front of him is playing tentatively.
After what happened in Game 5 and 6, the Leafs should have come out and skated their ass off and take it to the Habs and score a goal or two. They didn't do that. They were too scared to lose that they didn't even bother to try and win.
Campbell would be the last person I would blame for these 3 losses.
