I'll watch, but it won't matter. This team will be fighting an uphill battle until they win a series, even if we all get the blood we want this summer.

I'll be watching too, with the full expectation that they probably miss the playoffs. We are going back to real divisions and ours is a monster. I don't think we are in the top 4 teams...

I don't feel we are actually better than Boston or Tampa. Its going to be a battle to say the least!

Oh brother, now it’s not the GM’s fault because he “listened” to the fans wanting grit so he got grit, that’s too funny. Let me enlighten you, Dubas didn’t get grit, he got a bunch of washed up has been’s that USED to play with a edge, but can’t anymore, and he got said players because that’s all the cap room left over from being taken behind the woodshed by WN, AM, and MM.

Dubas fans will never admit he's been horrible. Hopefully, we never have to hear about it again after tonight.

There is a reason he was dumped by Philly, Nash and Buff. Not sure why Kyle would sign him over Perry at 2x the money. Perry had a huge impact in this series. Simmonds did virtually nothing.

If it was the other way, guarantee Simmonds plays a big part and Perry does nothing. I'm starting to lean towards the "fire the coach and maybe the GM" group. Maybe they need a Tortorella to wake them the f*** up. At the very least, we need to know why every player that gets to Toronto plays worse, and why the team plays down to every opponent. And that's been going on since 2004...

Some Leafs fans are like the cult of Dubas. Even when he does wrong, it's everyone but his fault. From Kadri, Freddie, Babs, Barrie, and now Marner, its always somebody but the person ultimately in charge of the team. He got his coach, he paid the current RFA deals, he decided he could navigate around the JT deal, etc. This is on him. He's had 3 years to improve us from a young team that pushed good teams to 7 games, and we are as bad as where we started.

Yeah and these people are now actively trying to convince others to allow the Rookie GM to fix the absolute mess he created?

Definition of insanity.

Kind of makes you wonder why these same people can't look reality in the face?

The team was in desperate need of toughness and leadership. Simmonds wasn’t great, but the Thornton contract really compounded the problem.

Perry's a gamer and always has been, but the Habs style suits him a lot more than the Leafs. They spent 90% of the series just throwing pucks into the slot hoping for the best.

So we are kinda screwed moving forward. I am pretty sure Matthews walks as a UFA in 3 years. Marner isn't going to do anything since he got paid and gets to do all the commercials for that extra moolah

Nylander after he matures is probably going to go to a team that has a chance at winning the cup.

Meanwhile Tavares' contract is not going to age well (although I wish him a speedy and safe recovery and for him to be healthy for his family).

I guarantee if Lou was still our GM we are not up to the kahoonaas with the cap and probably would have had some playoff success too

Fun fact. Engvall played more than Spezza in game 7 deciding game

Spezza who has 4 points with 3 timely goals
Has more points than entire 3rd line and 2nd on team on points plays less than Engvall and close very close

matthews dictates what Keefe’s approach is.

They had the exact same approach. They stubbornly believed their lineup choices were the correct ones until they were eliminated. This wasn't chosen by Matthews.

Keefe wouldn't be fired if in game six he correctly identifies Marner and Matthews struggles, splits them up, and they won - just because it upsets Matthews.

I'm sure Keefe made all sorts of decisions which drives their stars crazy - like not allowing Matthews to play the full two minutes powerplay - which we all know Matthews wants to but isn't allowed.

Keefe and this coaching staff believed their choices like Thornton on PP1, Marner and Matthews together, would work itself out and it didn't.

If a team can gain energy from their goalie making unbelievable saves, I am sure a goalie can also feel nervous when the team in front of him is playing tentatively.

After what happened in Game 5 and 6, the Leafs should have come out and skated their ass off and take it to the Habs and score a goal or two. They didn't do that. They were too scared to lose that they didn't even bother to try and win.

Campbell would be the last person I would blame for these 3 losses.

i will also argue, that even though the goal Campbell let in was bad, i have to firmly believe that sometimes the weak goals are beacuse they don't expect it to happen and they adjust kind of late. Marner's turnover was so mindblowingly dumb, it probably took him a minute to adjust and the puck was in the back of the net. I've said it before with Andersen. some of the goals he should have stopped, but most of the time t he puck shouldn't have even been close to him to even become a goal

people crap on Will all the time, but he showed so much maturity and leadership during these playoffs. Super proud of him.
