I wouldn't be shocked if the #1 pick ands up in Arizona. It would probably cost them Strome,Dvorak and at least their 1st and possibly more picks. Leafs draft Tkacuk and unite Dvorak, Marner with him. Arizona gets a local boy to help put butts in the seats. Everybody wins.

1st line takes the toughest assignments to shelter our two #1Cs of the future (By future I mean the year after next)

Matthews and Nylander lines will be 2a and 2b, both will get similar ice time and lots of opportunity. It's probably we sign/trade for a vet winger who can slot in on a scoring line so we don't have 4 rookies (If we get Vesey) on the wing. I'd expect 2 vets with grit and finish to take 2 of those Winger spots.

This is my dream lineup...big time.
Than 4c is taken by laich till the trade deadline and then Gauthier after that.

Yeah he said he likes to ease them in and would have rather started Nylander on the wing, but didn't have the choice so had to throw him into the deep end. But now he's there and swimming, imo doesn't make much sense to pull im out of the water and start over, its a step backward

if Stamkos agrees to play wing, he goes 1st line RW. If not, aim for Loui Eriksson. One of Bozak and Laich will be traded, I think teams will have more interest in Bozak so I have Laich slotted 4th line C. Marner is an enigma, I think it might be slightly too early for him at the NHL level because of how many rookies the Leafs are going to have next year, but he's too good for the OHL. I think the Leafs will put him in the NHL and accept that the team is going to make a lot of mistakes.

The D is awful, they need to sign one of Gologoski, Polak, or Schenn. They also need to get a high end RD through trade somehow.

The goalie situation is as bad as the D situation. Not sure how they're going to solve that one.

Overall, I don't think Stamkos is the #1 priority for this team like a lot of people seem to think. He would be more useful as someone to take the spotlight off of the kids than as a superstar player, and I'm not sold that that is worth $10 mil.

you folks are seriously kidding yourselves if you don't think they will do everything they can to grab a wildcard spot next year.

and that just might mean, putting the rook nylander on the wing for most/all the season.

Nylander will be centre. Matthews will be on wing.

I can't believe how many young forwards the Leafs have that are ready for a full time spot.
