It isn't special teams you f***... its goaltending.

I try to stick up for the goalie usually but that was awful. Sometimes you just need a great save at the right time to keep it close. Sammy isn't doing that at all this season.

f***ing Tampa looks awful actually. Leafs are coming back I'm calling it. Their goalie blows and I'm putting my faith in Woll for now.

Still only 5 games into the season. Trying to be optimistic but oh wow it's hard sometimes

Matthews, nylander and knies are dominating. Marner and bertuzzi are clueless. Domi is playing well tonight
Knies has looked like a bigger Robertson so far. Lots of aimless low IQ effort that will probably just lead to injury. The pass to JT was nice but I mean even Reaves can make that pass covered by nobody

I wish they’d just blow it all up.

Perfect year to do it

Trade Nylander as a rental. Bertuzzi, domi, Klingberg, McCabe would all help get returns

Do the same thing next year with Tavares, maybe Marner.

Start all over again. This formula has had enough time. I don’t care how early it is. How much better do we think this team can actually get? They can’t make any significant changes with the cal situation. The prospect cupboard is bone dry. They are what they are. A four or five win playoff team.

Marner’s gotta shoot that

It would have just been a muffin in the crest anyways.

Guy comes back looking as weak as ever with as bad a shot as ever year after year.

You see the results of guys like Nylander, Matthews who clearly put in the work in the offseason to improve on aspects of their game, whether it translates or not statistically.

Then there's bambi, who comes back looking as physically weak, with the same muffin shot and lack of accleration he's always had.

17 shots + a post in the first period. Our offense is there. Just need to finish. And more puck luck. Matthews hit the f***ing post 20 seconds in.

Sky is not falling. 82 games folks. These chances will start to go in. Its game 5 lol

The issue is the goaltending. Give this team a .918 goaltending performance and *poof* all the problems go away

According to the graphic in-game showing their slow starts recently followed by smoking hot Novembers, we just have to wait 9 or so more days until the Leafs start playing hockey.
It won't happen this year because they have an upcoming trip to Sweden in November. Whatever momentum they may have before the roadtrip will be stopped at that point.

I ain’t worried about the offensive as much as the goaltending. He’s letting in unscreened wrist shots, no matter the shot it beats him

Back hand through the legs? Yes
Wrist shots? Yea
Point shots? Yes

He can’t make saves on anything

Not much he can do.
Thank Dubas for that.
He can't add but he can move laterally, which can turn into upgrades.

Move on from guys like Brodie and Giordano and try someone else. Try to get another Luke Schenn type for cheap. There's still moves to be made.

Samsonov traditionally recovers in-game after giving up a bad goal. I don't think he will give up another one tonight.
