Maybe because Sammy is no longer there and they know they don't have to worry about him coming into the game.

They have always started rather well when Jones in net for some reason. Maybe they get more confidence from him. Who knows.

Or they dont' hold their stick too tight, with Samsonov in net, they constantly had to fear of making mistake

Kings D is considered pretty good. They have given up more chances of that quality than the Leafs. Pretty standard in every game
