1 on 1 from distance without a pass or screen is supposed to always be a save - that's why they tell the defender to play the pass on a 2 on 1

It's the soft play on the wall before then spinning in a circle while his D beats him wide to the net prior to it that's a concern and happens way too often. Although the 360 turn in the middle of the ice and forgetting which D he's taking after breaking his stick wasn't ideal

I’m not able to watch, but 2 unassisted goals from Matthews just seems to show how much he just beats goalies and doesn’t really need to be set up
