He would fit in well if they can get him. Has a cup ring, solid 2 way game, plays physical and can provide secondary scoring.

He has improved this season compared to the past few, but still wouldn't expect him to be moved, based on us asking too much and the difficulty in fitting his contract in. I do think the upcoming cap increases will allow more guys like Schenn to be moved though.

I have the feeling if this trade occurred it would be exactly how many Toronto fans propose trades where it’s a bunch of stuff they don’t want for a thing they want and I think I’m okay with that.

I may be in the minority of blues fans or not I don’t know I just speak for myself but I think stl would benefit from one more futures based deadline. I think this maybe a deal that some blues fans may not love the return…but that’s okay I think.

The blues have a good class of prospects, but they’re 18-20, it’s gonna be a minute, so maybe good to invest in one more draft. The blues being good right now is maybe detrimental to their future. Maybe best to trade a guy away. Plus; McDavid, Eichel, Matthews and MacKinnon are in their prime. Why try to enter that heavyweight battle. It’s a good time to reload. Schenn has been playing great. He’s good for the playoffs. He’s as honest a player there is in the modern game.

Its seems like Holloway and Kyrou have been carrying him in terms of speed.

Leafs are a slow team, they need some speed at C.

Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on Schenn being shopped/available. Sounds like Dreger is talking out of his ass.

Would love to have Schenn, don't think the Leafs can fit him under the cap though and not sure they have the return the Blues would want.

I'm not so sure I mean the Blues are 6 points out of a wildcard spot.

And I have no doubt Berube wants him.

I could see this before next season
Believe what you want to believe, I'd be shocked personally.

33 year old captain of the team signed for 3 years after this one @ $6.5 mill with a full NTC thru this season (becomes 15 teams for his 34-36 seasons). Blues need vets like him to lead their young kids, they wouldn't be looking to dump him for a cheap return.

I just don't see it :dunno:

While Schenn would be a really nice fit on the Leafs 3rd line, there's a lot of reasons this makes absolutely no sense until the offseason.

1. The Leafs have basically zero cap space.

2. Any deal that sends Schenn to Toronto would require 3 years of salary retention.

3. St. Louis knows, or ought to know, that if they want Schenn gone, with the cap increasing substantially this offseason, that they will easily be able to do so and likely get some positive value back, especially as his no-trade clause opens up to half of the league.
