Every Toronto kid dreams about hearing one sentence: Honda in partnership with Tim Hortons presents the Stanley "Double Double" Cup to the Scotiabank Maple Leafs.
There's no way Scotiabank would ever allow their brand in blue.Im fine with it considering today's conditions - BUT, that red logo should be blue. I'd bet a pretty penny that Scotia wanted the red in their negotiations.
Hard times for the $1.5 billion franchise. Campbell's now has Chunky Chicken Noodle and Chunky Beef TML collectector's edition soup cans on grocery shelves.
I can handle ads on the boards, on the ice, on the glass, on jerseys, on helmets but to sell the division names kind of cheapens it for me.
NEW YORK & TORONTO - The National Hockey League (NHL®), in partnership with Discover, Honda, MassMutual and Scotiabank today announced the official division names for the 2020-21 season: Scotia NHL® North Division, Honda NHL® West Division, Discover NHL® Central Division and the MassMutual NHL® East Division.

Last time the Leafs had any red in their uniform would have been in the 1940s.
I'm having a blonde moment.. I don't get it?

That's nothing. A few weeks ago at the LCBO I purchased a 473 ML can of Molson Canadian with a Leafs logo and added it to my Maple Leafs collection of merchandise.Hard times for the $1.5 billion franchise. I can't wait to see the ads on Montreal's helmets:
Molson Laurentide Pale Ale
Schwart's Deli
Dunn's Famous Poutine
Les Foufounes Èlectriques

Obviously.It's Gary being Gary.

It made me ill when I read this announcement. As a fan I like to pretend it's about competition between highly skilled athletes, in reality its all about the Benjamins. I truly believe if Gary had a choice between having the most entertaining season on ice but poor revenues or garbage boring competition but record revenues/profits.... he'd pick the later, he wouldn't even blink an eye picking money.
