it can't be more accurate than no chance which is what both scenarios have. That's more accurate then their nylander and sandin for domi

Sakic was not even considering trading EJ.
Still couldn’t believe they agreed to send Kadri. I still remembered Leaf fans believed they robbed the AVs. Kerfoot could be the only player remaining after this deal. Additions of Rosen + 2nd just makes this trade much sweeter.
Dubas playing 4D chess while Sakic is shoving crayons up his nose and learning his A B Cs.
Ottawa was smart enough to put protection in the EK trade if he got traded back into the East.
Barrie could go to a rival Western team and all the Aves would have for it is some AHLer name Rose.
I'd do Tanev for Barrie. Tanev is exactly what the Leafs need, and has a workable contract. Canucks could use more offense from their back end. Both deals expire this year.
Wait, what? You sound lost in the 2nd part of your "point". Leafs fans didnt see this as robbery, that's BS, and Kerfoot being the only player left was kinda the idea on the Leafs end seeing as Barrie would be a UFA. Rosen and a 2nd is brag-worthy? What world are you living in? If Barrie was killing it right now, posters like you would go into hiding. You come out when it's convenient. It's also convenient that Kadri is now a great player. We were told just last season that he was a 3rd line, 20 goal, dirty player. Now hes a heroic 2nd line gritty center. This is why this site is a joke in a nutshell.Agree, this is why Leafs wanting Barrie was so surprising. He’s not the player they needed.

You're discounting Barrie a ton. I think we all agree he is still a great PP player, an average ES player and that the Leafs have no idea what they're doing. None of us would be shocked to see Barrie flourish in the right system. If only, but this is a total day dream. Why would VAN give Tanev to TOR ("exactly what the Leafs need"), for their struggling Barrie who's contract expires? Not every GM is swooned by Barrie's spin-a-rama moves liked Dubas is.
To be fair, we thought we were getting a right handed defenseman capable of putting up 60 points on a team with a lot of firepower (on paper, anyway). While we still had defensive holes, it seemed like a match made in heaven.
Whatever Barrie is so far this year is.....very, very far away from that.
While Kerfoot has been a good third liner for us at a slightly cheaper price than Naz, Barrie's performance this year has swung the trade heavily against us.
Avs fans told us that Kerfoot was the achilles heel to the trade, but yikes....
Honestly, I blame myself. This is what I get for having a shred of optimism.

Hmmm so we didnt Kadri in the deal??? Kadri > Barrie & Kerfoot
And its AVS
He barrie) doesn't even start powerplays in toronto, never. He also plays none on the PK. Also he doesn't bring the puck bravely upwards during the 5 on 5 play like he did in colorado. But the first one, PP, is the biggest difference to avalanche. This player should have been swapped to another type of player (Thug) during summertime. Leafs don't need a player like barrie. THey already have scoring touch, speed and talent. It's the other thangs we lack. We ain't got no toughness, hardness, nore thugs under God. We couldn't win anythang in the playoffs with this squat squad anyway.AVs fans are surprised at Barrie's poor performance. Kerfoot is a perfect fit on the Leafs 3rd line, AVs were playing on the top lines which were beyond his abilities.
You're not the only person surprised, but Barrie is streaky and might recover or Babcock could alter the way he's being used.
Kerfoot = Kadri.
Kadri is grittier and a better goal scorer.
Kerfoot is a better modern defender and playmaker.
Equal players who fit their new teams better.
Barrie was traded mainly for Rosen.
come on. Kadri for Barrie was the deal. Rosen is nothing. Kerfoot was thrown in to offset the difference in contracts and as a need for toronto since they didnt have a 3rd line center.
kadri is a ~60 point center. Kerfoot is a 30 point center. i dont think many people would agree in your assessment that kerfoot is as good.
Ahh I remember my first NEB'ing.Go ahead and take a minute to collect your thoughts. You just got NEB'd hard.

He'd still be better defensively than almost your entire roster.Yeah until Tanev breaks his neck for the 50th time in his career

He doesn’t carry the puck?Agree with all your points except Barrie doesn’t carry the puck with AVs. He drop passes for the streaking Forward and moves to the offensive zone to wait for a return pass.
Leafs traded for a PP Specialist. He doesn’t carry the puck, below average defensively and lacks toughness. He expects a deal starting at $8M+ per which is too expensive for his limited skill set.
He pushes it with his stick. Closing your hand on the puck is a penalty. He doesn’t carry the puck?
I’ve heard it all.
