The same as Engvall is doing for the Isles?This is a terrible trade, what’s this Pillar done for the Leafs lately?
I know JT is the current captain, and it's "Matty's team" but when Tavares's contract is up for renewal, and regardless of if he signs again or not, if we have ROR under contract for 2 or 3 more years after that, he's gotta get the "C". Based on this series alone...He is da true warrior amongst warriors .. listening to Tampa fans and parents all they talk about is ROR .. guy has huge respect in hockey world with our opponents .. he plays every shift like it is his last one .. he just keeps fighting on .. never gives up an inch of ice .. always plays da right side of puck .. compete compete compete .. omg best player we've had since Killer
A 1st, 2nd, and 4th round pick combined are "low"?
Actually, a 1st round pick 70% of the time nets you a good NHL player.

2016 NHL Entry Draft Picks at hockeydb.com
I believe a 2nd round picks about 50%...
a 4th round about 20%...
You do the math.
You're more likely to get two, not one.
{EDIT}
*****APPOXIMATELY*****
Holy crap relax, I put a chart up later on in the thread that shows close to those numbers
I remember everyone here saying the trade will be worth it if we win a round. Because to most leaf fans, winning a round was their stanley cup.
But then they actually DID win a round, and those leaf fans looked around stunned and said "Wait a second... the road to a cup has only just STARTED?" And then they saw that losing in humiliating fashion in the 2nd round is in some ways even worse than losing a close fought 1st round.
Unsolicited he did say a couple of times "hopefully we get something done here"Ryan O'Reilly on his day at Oakdale, being a Maple Leaf and the disappointment of their second round exit - TSN.ca
Toronto Maple Leafs Forward Ryan O'Reilly joined the OverDrive guys earlier to discuss playing in the RBC Canadian Open Pro-Am, how he adjusted to playing in Toronto, how his family took the trade, what his summer plans are, what it meant to play for the Leafs, having an extra day during the Stanley Cup Final, how much pressure was relieved after winning round 1 and the feelings after losing to the Panthers.

Doesn’t sound like a guy who’s rushing out the door to me. Hopefully matthews contract is realistic and they can resign him.Ryan O'Reilly on his day at Oakdale, being a Maple Leaf and the disappointment of their second round exit - TSN.ca

What a trade. Thank you Dubas for the memories to last a lifetime.
