I like the deal. I like the deal even more because it gives both players more games to acclimate with the team than if something had been done at the TDL.

I don't think Dubas is finished.

Things are definitely going to be interesting in the next few days.

GLG :thumbu:

Leafs gave up a ton of picks to make it happen. Don't really care and it's not a big deal, but it will be a bit harder to make another trade by the deadline.

I'd expect the Leafs to try hard to extend ROR.

Whoopsies
Give this person some credit... above ... see original post. Kinda called it in the free agency thread.

Well ... nailed it ... well done.

I just finished a post going for more middling guys lol then that.

So kudos to you.

I don't mind that. Better than the Kane idea. A lot of picks but.... and many will say we got fleeced etc but Dubas likes his own picks and we lost none of them(Knies, Niemela etc). Who gives a shit about the guys in the system leafs gave up. The picks hurt a bit this year but clearly Dubas wants to go for it.

Leafs are very solid down the middle. Not many teams beat that now and it pushes guys to the lines they should be on.

Not bad not bad! Maybe we can get O'Reilly on a Gio/Spezza type deal for the next couple years too. I kind of balked when I first saw this price but if we can hang onto O'Reilly for a few runs this will be WELL worth it. RIP the 2023 draft though hahaha! Good job Dubas :D

That's a fairly steep price in futures given up. There's no denying that the present looks to have become significantly brighter though.
Yes and no

He's the type to take a discount but do not like the mileage.

This gives Keefe more cracks at stacking a 1st line when it's push time.

Now you can shorten the bench and rotate a cast of Matthews/Marner/Nylander/JT as mainstays up front and go with a 2nd line of ROR/Kerfoot/X...
