Pretty much. Get acceptable goaltending and we are fine. Good rebound effort. Don't think we played great or anything but good performance.
Fologno was solid and Marner was fantastic.

Back in the win column! Foligno takes advantage of a great opportunity and makes the scoresheet as early as possible in his tenure here. Unfortunate that Thornton missed out on that goal and a bit of Leaf history.

After the shit we’ve been through this season, I’ll 100% take a win like that. Wasn’t our best played game but nice to finally get 2 points.

Rielly and Holl need some things to work out though...

Besides McDavid being 13 points up on Drai, I think Marner, Kane or Matthews could catch Drai and finish second in scoring tbh.

Brooks is a great utility player. Just so versatile and knows where to be on the ice. You can say his goals have been easy tap ins, but he has the IQ to find open space. He always seems to produce in limited minutes both this season and last.

Dermott looks great with Sandin. It’s become obvious that he’s the most mobile D on the team. Probably the only guy that can keep up with Connor/Ehlers. Compensates for Sandin’s lack of explosiveness. Great box out on Copp near the end.

When you see Foligno casually finishing checks hard on a forecheck it's just a clear reminder what that kind of gritty play style can do for a line. You get a guy doing that and Simmonds and Galchenyuk and Thornton chipping in, it gets the ball rolling and tires out the opposition.

Foligno is gonna be huge in the playoffs.

Campbell great once he settled in.

Lets go.

Foligno didn't over play. He came in steady. That's all the team wanted from him and it's a big deal. He wss involved and focused.

Him, Simmonds, Bogosian, Muzzin (I hope), Hyman will all bring an element they need. I hope Galchenyuk remains hungry as well. He can bring another pest-like dimension.

It was pretty close and some sites even had the Leafs ahead with the weighting.....which means the Jets had a great game as they usually get blown out with xGF%.

Not gonna win a lot of games where Helle gets pulled though.

We probably played better in the Canucks games yet we lost. Shows how much of an ex factor is the goaltending.

Poise and smart safe plays all over the ice. Marner and Matthews don’t read where he puts nice pucks on the wall yet. Chemistry was good for one game holeee.

It just goes to show that we shouldn't overreact so bad after one or two bad games.

Not saying tonight was a perfect game, for sure. But these were huge 2 points and much needed.
