Ok so he was going with Nylander. Now he is back with MM he is sucking again 5v5. Vast minority seem to point this fact out and just blame AM because it couldn't be how MM plays (selfish trying to rack points for a contract)

Nylander and Matthews together have terrible stats, and Marner and Matthews have good stats together.

I said put him with Knies and Domi and Nylander on L3. JT and MM works great anyways.

Domi needs to work through whatever issues he currently has and get going, but I am not against this.

If they are going to run a top heavy team though, best lines are MM/AM and JT/WN

We could have played better, but I thought we still generated enough chances to win the game but couldn't convert. The refs also missed a couple of blatant Detroit penalties.

Serious question. How healthy is Matthews? 75%? Less?

On the PP he can sit in a spot and fire away. Off the rush he is nowhere to be found, slowwwww.
Tavares needs to lend him an amulet

It's pretty bad when the best line is your fourth line, and the fourth line wasn't that good

Minten might be slowing down a bit with the NHL grind

Problem is who do you bring in?

Domi is a big disappointment this season.. he’s suppose to lead the secondary scoring charge and can’t do anything in the O zone
He got rocked last night, but never backed down from anyone after that. A big hit can really change your demeanor either because of what it takes out of you mentally or physically. Minten might of had some of his reserves drained prematurely, but he was strong mentally. He's going to be alright no worries.

Yeah the way is to mortgage the future which Kyle was very good at.

As of December 15th and 2024, the team is 1st place in the Atlantic.

You need to be willing to do that to get the pieces necessary.

They keep getting this level of goaltending they can win a cup.

His disinterest there was the ‘TSN Turning Point’ in this one.

That was an embarrassing play and he should be ashamed. Especially given his status as the Captain and highest paid player in the league.

Not if they don’t score any goals

Gee that sounds great if it were oh I don't know. True maybe? The teams shitting the bed since they got put together.

yeah let's put Domi on the first line Lol

It worked in the past with AM. Why not try it. Oh because you think AM and MM are married and it's the only way even though the team has been shitting the bed since the reunion. Makes sense. Great take aways.

Answer to fixing bad results is do more of the same thing and hope for better result. Einsteinian level thinking

Great at home but a sub .500 team on the road.
Domi was absolutely horrible tonight.
Matthews looks disinterested.

At times this looks like a very average playoff team saved by great goaltending. Woll didn't steal it for them tonight, so they lose.
Disinterested, hmm don't know about that, I was thinking he looked more "unable."

Leafs have 4 of the top 12 highest paid players in the league.

So how can they struggle to score more than 2 goals a game?

Goaltending and system is keeping them in games but Leafs offense is broken and their top heavy spending on just 4 forwards is not delivering a decent bang for their cap buck and its hurting bottom 6 depth.

If this were the playoffs now Leafs would be struggling to stay alive,

Leafs spend the same on depth and D as Florida, please tell me why they have depth.

You won't.

There is always a way to get it done.

I keep hearing about how tight to the cap we are but every year we addl

Why? because there is ALWAYS a way.
Yes we add but so far the adds of 2 different GM have accomplished nothing. Maybe if we had more money to add a bit higher quality thruout the entire line things might be different

It's the wrong mix and a slow defence

Simple short answer……Dubas sucks. Long answer, it’s the wrong mix and the whole doesn’t equal the sum of the parts

Truly great players convert…….the rest create chances………and fancy stats
